12oz bottle from Pinnochio’s. Pours a jet black color with a tan head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, pine, grapefruit. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is bitter, hoppy, piney, a little roasty, but not as much as some Black IPAs, with a roasty, pine finish.

Bottle poured a dark cola with a large tan long lasting head and notable lacing. Aroma is filled with pine, resiny hops, and hints of roasted caramel malt and citrus. First sip begins with big hop flavor followed by caramel malt, mollases, and citrus before a smooth finish. Very drinkable black IPA.

Draught at TND: Aroma of hops, pine, resin, malt, molasses, brown sugar. Poured very dark brown in color with a large, creamy, dense, brown head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of malt, molasses, hops, pine, resin, and brown sugar. Medium body. Tingly, then dry texture. Medium sweet, medium bitter, malt, hop, pine, resin molasses, brown sugar finish is dry.

Bottle at home. Poured a pitch black with a two-finger khaki head and great lacing. Absolutely no light coming through this beer. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, light char, citrus, and a hint of pine. Taste is very thick and smooth with flavors of big cocoa, espresso, some roast, hints of vanilla and marshmallow, grapefruit, and grass with a moderately/lingering bitter finish. Thick and creamy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Overall, a very smooth and easy drinking beer and perfect for any season. Well done.

Pours perfectly unclear brown amber with a big sandy head. The aroma is the best part, zesty citrus hops. There is a creamy body, toasty but not over roasted with the hops more subtle on the flavor than on the nose.

Pours deep black with a small frothy head that lingers for only a bit. Aroma of hops and a bit of coffee and caramel. Taste is hoppy and a bit bitter, a little bit of sweetness up front. Mouthfeel is slightly watery. Overall one of the nicest Black IPAs I've had.

Pours black with a thick tan head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has roast and burnt notes with citrusy hops. Flavor is very hoppy...citrus quickly dominated by pine atop burnt notes and dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is burnt/roasty, piney/bitter/ and dry...lingering.

Bottle - courtesy of GandGKevin. Thanks Kevin! Black bodied with a tall, frothy brown head. Strong hop aroma that stands out in front of the roasted malt. Big floral hops, pine, herbal hops and citrus notes with strong roasted malt just behind it. Taste is big roasted malt, pine, citrus oils, floral hops, wet hops, and herbal hop notes. Body is medium with a moderate, bubbly carbonation and a strong, lingering hop bitterness. Finishes with more roasted malt notes, herbal hops, pine notes, wet hops, hop resins, and floral notes.

Big leafy herbal hop aromas. Roasted dark bitter chocolate and citrus hop flavors. Overall a very good black IPA.
