3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle, from brewery. Pours a clear dark gold body with a small frothy white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is slightly sweet malt with some bready and crackery notes. Some nice light flowery hop notes add a little bit of complexity. The flavor is pretty solid as well, on the lighter side as far as a Helles Bock goes in the malt department. It does make it a bit more drinkable and refreshing though. Nice slight honey sweetness throughout with just the right amount of bitterness on the finish. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty nice beer, especially for the heat of summer.

Aroma is sweet, lots of grape and raisin, along with along with dough and some flowers. Medium to fuller bodied with average to softer carbonation, a chewy syrupy body that finishes dry. Flavor isn’t as sweet as the aroma with notes of honey topped bread, nut shells, earth, grains, white grapes. Solid offering.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Average, nothing special about this beer. Didn’t get any of the early flavor of hints of bitterness advertised. Tasted far better than a mass produced lager, but really just tasted like a lager by any other microbrewery.
