COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As we spiral further toward the end of the Mayan calendar, we at Tröegs felt obligated to brew a special beer to commemorate the expiration of planet Earth. We think it’s a pile of gibberish (just don’t quote us on that, though… you never know)! Either way, celebrate the countdown to extinction and raise a goblet of this colossal Russian Imperial Stout as we plummet into utter oblivion. If your tongue doesn’t disintegrate as a result of the birthday party cheesecake jellybean BOOM, at the very least this beer will wreak major havoc on your taste buds. Yes, ¿Impending Descent? is as enormous, face-melting, and palate-numbing as it sounds. If there ever was a last beer to enjoy before Doomsday, this is it. Here at Tröegs we say, “Bring on the apocalypse!”

Nice sweetness and a touch of anise in the background. Light roast and backing milk chocolate. Bit of dark fruit as it warms. Viscous.

Bottle shared in GTMW line - Pours black cola with a bubbly tan ring of head. Nose is a bit of ashy roast, pretty dry with a bit of sharp booziness and a touch of sweetness. Taste is ashy, dry, a little vanilla and some brown sugar. Medium-bodied and pretty dull.

On tap at Frisco Taphouse & Brewery in Columbia, MD. Opaque, brown-black with a creamy, dark tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of caramel, sweet roasted malt, sweet chocolate and citrus. Sweet taste of roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, chocolate and citrus. Although this is a very sweet brew, a significant citric hop presence manages to press it's way through the malt. Full body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce thanks to robenalt. Bit sticky imperial stout. Sweetness like brown sugar. Chocolate. I should have waited for evening to open. Didn’t realize the big ABV. It’s present.

On tap at EBF 3/16/13. Thick, roasty chocolatey stout with a hint of plastic phenol. Not bad, but my hyper intolerance to phenols kept me from enjoying this beer.

Draft at lucky lab. Pours pitch black with a big brown head. The aroma Is complex with milk chocolate, coffee, dark chocolate, sweet dark fruit. The taste is close to a mocha drink from a coffee shop. There is a lot of milk chocolate, big sweetness and coffee. Light booze but not bad at all. Huge sticky palate.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, floral, lighter smoke, and a trace of dark fruits. Tastes of chocolate, dark fruits, licorice, roast, vanilla, and cake batter ice cream. Overall alcohol content well hidden.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, thanks Aaron! Dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brings notes of dark chocolate, coffee, hints of dark fruits, slight cherry. Taste is a mix of dark fruit, chocolate, hints of anise, coffee, toffee, hints of molasses, finishing fairly bitter, roasted, chocolate forward. Pretty good, the dms in the aroma is tough.
