A: Pours a medium straw color whose clarity is broken up by small yeast floaties grouped in a hazy manner. The head is a two finger white color with thick bubbles and low retention, but there are streaks of sticky lacing on the glass. S: Rather strong for a pils, it’s has a surprisingly rich zestiness to it, with hints of butter in the background...but it seems stale and off to me. Disappointing, but not at all without merit. T: Welp, my worst fears were confirmed - this is an old pilsner, bottle in 2011, not 2012. Oops. There’s a watery note right in the midtaste that kind of ruins everything, but it gives way to a zesty, crisp finish which redeems things somewhat. In addition, a sense of staleness pervades the entire beer to an extent. At least I can tell this was a good pils fresh. M: Goes down like water, with a faintly tannic aftertaste and lots of carbonation. The oak tannins threw me off to the point of being slightly detracting, but otherwise it drinks like a pilsner should. O: Moral of the story: look for bottle dates when buying a beer, especially when it’s a pils. The age has really made this one watery and stale - luckily, I’m still finding it spectacularly drinkable in spite of its glaring issues. Put it like this, it’s bottle conditioned well enough that I don’t regret purchasing it. I’ll try to re-review this one fresh.

On tap at UJs. Pours pale gold with white head. Pine, floral, hay. Moderately bitter. Crisp, light body. A tad acidic. Not bad for a Pilsner.

Hay, earthy, cereal. A good beer to drink on a hot day or a good German dish, such as sausage with fried potatoes.

Tap. Pours mostly clear gold with thin, frothy white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is straw and biscuit malt, citrus, grassy hops, some floral notes, light herbs, and light barnyard funk. Flavor is malt dominate with some citrus esters and light hops towards the end; dry finish. Light body, low carbonation, and low warmth.

Sample on tap, clear golden pour wih thin white head. Aroma is very fruity with slight yeast and malt notes. Flavor is very earthy with lots of citrus from the hop and some banana from the yeast. Overall it is an ok beer pretty refreshing and I like the hops.

Tap from mellow mushroom. Great light amber color. Mild sweet summer beer smell and lots of carbonation. Average summer beer and nowhere near as good as Oberon or others. ---Rated via my mouth

On tap at P house, pours a very carbonated light gold color, somewhat clearish. Small pure white head, small lacing, aromas of spice, light hops, orange peel. Taste is light malts, bitter citrus hops, and lager flavors. Pilseners are too carbonated for me in general, very bubbly. Crisp bite finish. Not bad.
