Very clear, pale yellow-green, with a lasting dollop of tiny foam...lemon-butterscotch (diacetyl? yes) nose isn’t overwhelming bad, just boring...fairly crisp, sweet honey-touched, with a lively mouthfeel, but the malt isn’t full enough and the grassy character is lacking. Wow, I’m the lowball on this one...but I gotta call it. Rastacouere (5552), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2005 Clear lightly carbonated golden. Gentle cover of white foam lasts on top of the beer. Highly floral hops hugs bright grainy, toasty malt. Faint diacetyl notes are a good match to the tea-like herbal undertones, reminiscent of dandelions and lemon. Grassy, floral and citrusy palate. Cuts short with a firm bite of bitterness that refreshes the palate a lot. Intense dry lemon character. Smooth palate, but perhaps a touch too little carbonation. Medium bodied. Good. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2005 The Lure: Herbal hoppiness and light straw combine for an interestingly attractive aroma. If it weren’t filtered, this would probably be much more of a countryside.
The Festivities: Citrus drops over crushed grain. Lingering grassy hoppiness dominates the German-like pils malts. Simple and well-done, an aptly named pils.
Transcendence: Sunflower fields are fun to watch. GonZoBeeR (2160), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 30, 2005 Slight hops in the nose and taste, but hops adds more to the bitterness than to the nose or taste. Bitterness in turn takes a little away from the summer nature of this brew, though a little honey does sweeten it out. Overall, a mildly delicious pilsner and for a hoppy pils not anywhere on par with PrimaPils! morehops (39), Pennsylvania, USA
