11% Bottle from a trade with GenDV138 - thanks buddy! A reddish-amber pour with a foamy beige head but not as red as I expected actually. The nose is somewhat weizen like in that I get a big banana bread & cloves, some cherry and honey as well but I think I need to let this warm up a bit. Nice fairly full bodied beer with a raspy carbonation and a hearty dose of warmth spreading down my throat to my belly. As it warms you definitely get a belgian yeast character from it with plums, spices, breadiness, cinnamon comes through, cherries, a fairly prominent booziness, banana bread. As it warms up it continues to reveal new nuances and layers. I think the booziness is a bit much I’d probably enjoy it more in the 8-9% range but I’d definitely have this again.

Nice red color. Can taste the alcohol but does a nice job of a blending most into the beer for how high the % is.

Strong aroma & appearance. The taste is medicinal. This beer went flat quickly. Low hops. The chocolate was undetectable.

Bottled. Pours a beautiful red cherry color, small white effervescent head. Aroma is tons of cherry. As soon as you open the bottle you can smell it. Lots of esters, dark fruits, little bit of honey sweetness. Almost too sweet smelling. Flavor is lots of cherry, honey, sweet flavors. Like a really intense Belgian style dubbel but without the Belgian yeast and spices. Mouthfeel is unremarkable. A good beer (its well done and high quality) but it’s sweet. Just not my cup of tea (or bottle of beer).

In a solo cup at the barber shop (hey, it’s free). Aroma isn’t great, but the taste is fine, fruity, a bit more grainy flavor than I prefer alcohol is pretty forward. Overall a good but not great beer.

Startling red color, sparkingly clear.
Medium body, alcoholic, smooth.
Sweet, balanced by enough acidity.
Delicate fruity taste, liqueur, phenolic.

I ended up liking this beer. Strong is an understatement. If I have more than one, I am spending the night lol Reddish tinge was a nice touch. Both the cherries and honey are noticeable. I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit... very fitting for the season. Smells very sweet, but captures that belgian taste like I love despite it being called an american strong ale. Fizzy, strong boozy mouthfeel and almost no bitterness.

Actually pretty decent. More like a Belgian strong than american. Pours hazy red with good head and lacing. Soft carbonation. Light sweet finish. Some prune here and a touch of candy. Tap at Giant.
