3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice reddish amber hue with a thin white head that fades quickly. Smells slightly of cherries with a strong honey aroma and hints of yeast. Tastes slightly sweet with notes of cinnamon and cloves and a slight cherry aftertaste that gets followed by a lasting alcohol flavor. Kind of like cherry cough syrup without the ick and with a nice blast of beer instead. But its really quite good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shout out to mydude DurhamBeer for sending this... oh a good long while ago (going on 3 years, maybe)... Either way I intended to rate it during Christmastime, now it’s June... and it’s time.
Pours a deep reddish brown with a small head.
At this point this smells like an aged beer, bits of oxidation are becoming prevalent and the sweet rich maltiness is very big. It’s reasonably fruity without much deliberate spice apparent anymore. Only lightly boozy on the nose with some sweet cherries and a good bit of tootsie roll.
The flavor still seems pretty darn festive, again not much in the way of intended spice, but there’s a bunch of pear and cherry with a huge rich malty character that’s more on the toffee end than the chocolate end, although there is some chocolate hanging out in the background.
Even at this age, the sucker is showing that 11% off pretty darn apparently, which in a beer like this is not out of line, but yes, it’s boozy... it’s also sweet although for all the sweeter elements going on here it does work a pretty nice bit of balance. As it warms some vanilla starts to show up which I think is just exactly what’s needed here.
fun, but I should really try one fresh some time.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very clear dark amber with little head. Aroma is cherries (but not fresh cherries but more like cherry cough syrup), yeast, cloves and alcohol. Taste is artificial cherry, some Belgian yeast, alcohol, and spice with a noticeable tartness. It is borderline syrupy. The only reason to buy this is the abv because there are much better beers in this style.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle@home, from Constantino’s, Cleveland, USA. Strong aroma of cherries and other sweet berries, some honey. Ethanol aroma nicely warms the nose. Darker copper/red color with small light natural white head and clear liquid. Strong, bit messy and unbalanced taste of cherry, banana, some honey and a hint of ultra-sweet malts. Narrow/medium taste spectrum and medium aftertaste with alcohol, some berries and malts. Medium palate with medium carbonation. Overall, messy case with an elf in etiquette telling the idea behind this products. Still, nuances remind me of Schneider Aventinus, so not ultimately bad after all.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
One of my all time favorite beers. I typically don’t like beers with fruity notes but this is not overpowering and just tastes great

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deepest amber color with orange/reddish hue. Super white head is gone like St. Nick on the 26th before the tulip warms enough for me to want to taste it.
Extreme malt sweetness. Slightest bit of spice.
FLAVOR- alcohol is forward and pronounced. If I didn’t know it was 11%, I’d guess it was pretty high. Malty sweetness comes into play soon after the alcohol fades.
Good beer, noteworthy for its alcohol, it does not disappoint. I like the subdued spice (compared to some Xmas ale spice bombs) but for a holiday ale, it could use a little more in that dept.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, light brown, mostly/fully diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (basement), with notes of cherry cough syrup, grape juice, alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic.
This is kinda like really boozy cherry-grape soda. A novelty beer geared to get you f’ed up, I guess.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Beautiful clear golden ale, not much head. Honey and spices on the nose. But the taste is almost shocking, thick and syrupy, like a dark brown ale.
