From tap at Local 44 as Scratch 98. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is phenolic and baking powdery yeasty. Bitter, grapefruity and dry. Smooth fruity into the dry finish.

Shared by yourefragile. Thanks Michael. The beer appears very hazy and orange colored with a quarter inch of sticky off white head. The aroma is quite nice - easily the best aspect of the beer. Tropical fruits, hops, light pine. The taste doesn’t live up to the promise of the scent, but still, this is a good beer. A lot of bitterness in the finish with some dryness. Hard to believe this is nearly 11% abv. Overall, a solid IPA. I would have this again. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 03-10-2012

Growler courtesy of yourefragile. Served in a Troegs tulip. Pours a very hazy golden-orange color with a short white head and a bit of lacing. The nose carries a good dose of mango and some faint tropical and citrus hops. The flavor is a bit odd. There’s mango and hops, but an add sweetness and bitterness pervades the brew, and not in a good and hoppy sort of way. Medium body with a lot of extra depth. Not crisp and dry, as a hoppy beer should be. Just okay.

On tap for Brad’s big day. Pours a hazy golden cloud, good lacing, small to medium fluffy white head. Aromas of pineapple, mangoes, danky and resinous pine. So many awesome hops coming together for a boozy easy drinking ipa for the alc. Just needs more mango. Great beer, can’t wait to try more styles from these brewers.

Poured cloudy, deep golden with a well-proportioned, sticky off-white head. The aroma picked up heavy doses of mango and pineapple amplified by warm, boozy undertones.. thick bread beneath.. dank, and definitely big. The flavor found mango meat and bready malts at the core.. black pepper and citrus bitterness around.. hefty alcohol burn and not-all-that-directional bitterness on the finish.. too many big, competing flavors in one place. Heavy-bodied with moderate-plus carbonation on the palate.. spicy and hot, with a lot of residual sugars, bitterness, and warmth on the finish.

Pours thick, unclear cloudy orange lemon with a white head. The aroma is fruity, boozy, and hoppy. The flavor of hops, mango tropical fruit, and alcohol blend well on a thick but smooth body.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a creamy tan head. Aroma is of ripe fruit and peppery spice. Taste is sweet with fruit up front quickly exploding with grapefruit and finishing off with a chalky bitter and dry finish. It’s pretty over the top with hops but the mango/grapefruit balances it nicely.

Served on-tap at the brewery. This one is tap only. A - Pours cloudy mango orange with a nice one finger tall white head leaving spotty streaks of lace down the glass. Goes a little dead about halfway through the glass. S - Smells of light mango and caramel sweetness initially. As it warms the citric hops come through a bit more but so does the booze, nearly overpowering everything else. T - Starts off with a quick citric hop kick quickly giving way to a mix of caramel sweetness, mango sweetness and plenty of booze. The alcohol only grows stronger as it sits in the glass. I don’t get as much mango as I was expecting either. Finish is bitter with a light alcohol burn, lingering on the pallet for some time. M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Slick, hoppy feel growing a little sweet as it warms up. The carbonation wanes as it sits in the glass. O - This one was decent. It has plenty of flavor but it never really blew me away and the strong alcohol presence really wore me down fast. It is worth a shot if you are at the brewery.

On tap at the brewery, this beer is hard to call an IPA and its hard to call a fruit beer. The beer pours amber with a very strong citrus aroma with Mango. The beer is has a strong citrus flavor. Even clocking in at 10.8% and 125 IBU’s the alcohol or the bitterness do not stand out, it is very well balanced. This is a tasty beer, enjoyed it.
