Apr 6, 2009 Wow!! I had this via a bottle from a local restaurant, then put a half barrel on tap in my kegorator. The aroma is a very malty, bready smell that makes you crave the beer as you would a home cooked meal. It pours a darker shade and has a thick off white head. Very thick and satisying beer if you enjoy a malty, sweeter beer.

Apr 6, 2009 Bottle from Captain Cougar. Thanks Tom! Pours a beautiful garnet with a temporary light tan head. The aroma is simply caramel. Rather full bodied with mild carbonation. Flavor is caramel with a light touch of hop, maybe. Finishes bready caramel. It’s not dry but it’s not sticky sweet either. A pretty good beer.

Apr 3, 2009 Not a fan. Poured brown with a white head. Aroma of caramel. Lots of caramel with a hit a bread in the finish. Didn’t finish right for me.

Mar 28, 2009 Thank you abcfan for this one. Pours a dark shade of copper. Aroma is all malt. Flavor is very one sided, and you can literally taste the caramel malt in this. Kindof cloying, but if you like sweet beers this is right up your alley. Not bad, just a really one sided malt bomb.

Mar 25, 2009 Aroma is yeasty and also a bit spicy. Also dark roasted malt if you examine it more closely. Some licorice in the flavor and palate. Not one of Troeg’s best offerings in my opinion.
