branspra (204), Arlington, Virginia, USA Oct 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a off-white head that has staying power. Aromas of yeast, bread, and roasted malts. Nice creamy texture with minimal carbonation and wonderful aftertaste. I will drink this again. doubleipa (224), Georgia, USA Oct 23, 2008 Had this at the Harrisburg brewfest. dark amber, with little head. Very malty, of course. Long finish, noo alcohol, very smooth, with lots of malt finish. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Oct 22, 2008 GABF 2008. Amber bronze, foamy off-white head. Huge maltiness in the aroma and palate: bread crusts, butterscotch, brown sugar. Really terrific! Snojerk321 (1914), San Diego, California, USA Oct 19, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours a deep slightly hazed brown with a small tan head. Big sweet malty nose with raisins, dates, figs etc. Flavor was again quite sweet and malty. Body was medium, a great Doppelbock. j12601 (1149), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Oct 16, 2008 Bottle. Dark copper to brown, thin tan head. Malt, yeast, and a hint of caramel on the nose. Smooth and creamy mouth feel with flavors of raisins and stone fruit. Finish is malty.
KornDogg (168), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 12, 2008 finally am rating this beer...Dark amber with thin head... hints of caramel and a touch of hops along with the malt give it an overall great balance.. a solid bock TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA Oct 6, 2008 Finally available in my home town. The pour is a nice dark amber, the head is a small ring of bubbles lacing the top of the glass. The aroma is citrusy malts. The flavor is true to the aroma, the hops a touch more flowers than in the aroma. A very enjoyable beer. joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Oct 4, 2008 dark brown with little head. obviously strong malt tones with a lot of crystal presesnt, maybe even some chocolate. some hop balance, but nothing really stands out. a solid version of the style that is not done enough by american breweries
