Commercial Description:
For periods of fasting without solid foods, Monastic brewers relied on the double bock; a stronger, richer beer to fulfill their basic nutritional needs. Known to them as "liquid bread", a double bock has a strong malt aroma and chewy rich body. In the spirited tradition of naming a double bock in the suffix "ator," we give you Troegenator to provide warmth and richness through the early spring months.

Pours a mahogany brown with red highlights and thin egg-shell head. Aroma of plum, raisin, and smoke. Flavor has a hint of alcohol, cherries, very sweet. Very nice indeed. Awesome label.

Bottle courtesy sleepylopes. Pours a blackish red with a thick off white head. Chocolate, caramel, sweet malt, slight hop aroma. Thick chocolaty taste, very smooth with hints of dark fruit. Tasty and smooth, would love to try this on a cold night.

Deep amber in color with a fluffy beige head. The nose showed off malt, caramel, raisin and bubblegum. In the mouth it was medium-bodied and sweet with nice richness and balance in the mid-palate.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber brown with medium head, only slight lacing. Flavor is caramel malts with a bit of smoke. It has a little bit of scotch flavor actually. This beer is fairly sweet but there is a nice bitterness in the end which almost balances it out.

Brilliant Blood-orange color. I smell some deep molasses and bread on the bouquet. Tastes of mocha, and a hint of caramel, and possibly some raisin. Pretty carbonated, but feels relatively light for a doppel, I’ll drink again however.

Poured a nice amber color with a decent off-white head that stuck around and left bits of lacing. Smell is of biscuits, slightly floral, but very light aroma. Caramel, biscuit, a hint of dark fruit, as well as a slight metallic taste and a watery finish make up the taste. Full bodied, medium carbonation. Honestly becomes a bit cloying, nothing real special here, probably won’t try it again.
