Commercial Description:
For periods of fasting without solid foods, Monastic brewers relied on the double bock; a stronger, richer beer to fulfill their basic nutritional needs. Known to them as "liquid bread", a double bock has a strong malt aroma and chewy rich body. In the spirited tradition of naming a double bock in the suffix "ator," we give you Troegenator to provide warmth and richness through the early spring months.

Pours red brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is caramel, bread, and a hint of spice. Strong malt flavor, with a bit of spice and fruit in there. Flavor is growing on me as I drink it.

Reddish brown in the glass with a substantial, off brown head. Caramel, chocolate oatmeal cookie, and some faint hop backing. Flavors are pretty consistent with the aroma of the brew. Heavy, but well-carbonated.

Poured from bottle to wide mouthed Chimay glass. Color is a deep red-brown. Pleasant malty aroma with hints of caramel and spice. Somewhat complex flavor, tastes of caramel, spices, roasted malts, hops and alcohol. All in all a tasty brew.

Bottle, thanks to MySpace friend, Kevin. Pours a deep, dark clear amber with beige head, not much retention. Has small aroma of strong malt, caramel, brown sugar. Flavor is nice and rich, medium roast malts, sweet, and alcohol spice that compliments, slight bitter in the end. Mouth feel is a nice full body with medium carbonation. I enjoyed this!

Got this from vecenies It is areally nice example of the style. Brown gold, with a nice but modest head, malt odors and big malt and fruit tatstes. Just the right level of carbonation.

Bottle. Cola color, clear, medium light tan (cola) head, not much nose, some malty notes. Malty, somewhat sweet, moderate bitterness, some noble hop notes.
