Poured from a 12oz bottle. Tastes of sweet bready malts. Little hop presence. Hints of raisins, honey, and dark fruits. High abv. but dangerously drinkable. A staple in my fridge.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampler at the brewery. Pours clear dark red with a thin beige head. Tastes mildly sweet, like cherries, malt, grains, nutty. Very smooth. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like booze, cherries, malt.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (12 oz). Clear copper with a small beige head and little to no lacing. Aroma is of caramels, nuts, toasted malt, bananas and light fruits. Taste is slightly to moderately sweet with caramel, toasted malt, light fruits, light spices and hints of bananas. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Not too sweet for a Doppelbock. Alcohol is well hidden. Not really complex, but drinkable. Good interpretation of the style.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A: pours a brown ale with cherry hues. Despite full bore pour, no head formation. Central cap of off-white foam with a rim of the same. No lacing. Excellent clarity.
S: Apple skins, sugar, faint praline. Dirty malts. Okay, a bit sweet without the complexity to justify it IMO.
T: Roasty malts and sweet alcohol. Some nice overtures of raisins, wood and caramelized sugars. Alcohol is a little sharp, but not too bad.
M: Thin for the style with moderate carb. Dry finish. Not impressed here.
O: Meh, mediocre doppel to me. I would like the beer to be a hare turbid, produce some head, more complex and layered flavor profile, a better feel and long finish .

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Nose brings out chewy caramel malt, bready malts, and dried dark fruits. Flavour is immensely fruity, with loads of dark red fruits, some dried fruits, bready notes, and rich chewy caramel malt providing the backbone. Quite a chewy and fruity doppelbock, with a very sweet and fruity malt component. Good stuff, but gets a bit difficult to drink after a while.
