Commercial Description:
For periods of fasting without solid foods, Monastic brewers relied on the double bock; a stronger, richer beer to fulfill their basic nutritional needs. Known to them as "liquid bread", a double bock has a strong malt aroma and chewy rich body. In the spirited tradition of naming a double bock in the suffix "ator," we give you Troegenator to provide warmth and richness through the early spring months.

Strong beer, the alcohol is definitely present. It has a very odd and strong taste that just doesn’t do it unless youre in the mood for it.

Bottle. Full bodied beer. Very malty. Alcohol taste is present, but not overpowering. Overall, good beer.

Delicious beer. Heavy, full bodied, and malty. Perfectly balanced taste hides the alcohol well. According to the description, it also meets my nutritional needs when I am on beer only fasts. Great

Dark caramel color with a fine head that quickly diminishes leaving good lacing throughout the whole beer, good flavor of malts and fruits, mildly hopped but enough to offset the sweetness, low carbonation A pretty standard doppelbock, and surprisingly good.

Strong sweet malt aroma hints of fruit. Dark amber color with not much of a head. Lots of sweetness with this one. Creamy mouth feel.

On tap at... Houlihans (a chain resturaunt) ? Very dark red with a small beige head. A toasty dark fruit aroma. I can taste some cherry and raisin, along with the roasted malts. Barely any sign of the alcohol until the Whiskey/Scotch aftertaste. Very good levels of carbination and a very unique flavor.

12 oz bottle thanks to dmac621. Poured a deep brown with a small head. I enjoyed my first double bock. I tasted raisins and caramel. Leaves a good taste.

12 oz bottle shared with padrefan98. Brown beer with a smallish head that dissapeared quickly. Caramel and toffee aromas. Very maltyand sweet Flavors were very similar with some roastiness and dark fruits. Pretty good.
