Turambar (11), Maryland, USA Dec 11, 2006 Pours a deep amber brown with a pleasing aroma. Decent, slightly off-white head that diminishes rather rapidly but with good lacing. A fairly sweet caramel taste followed by malt. Dry finish. Recommended. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Dec 8, 2006 In the bottle. Pours dark amber with a yellowish off-white medium-sized head. The aroma is of a strong vegetable/squash scent, but also a strong caramel. It has a thick palate. Flavor is corn syrup sweet and mostly has a great big caramel taste. This is clearly a lager, but makes you think that it might not be fully attenuated, as it is so very sweet. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 7, 2006 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of black cherry, brown sugar, wheat bread, and caramel malts. Poured dark amber/copper in color with a big, creamy khaki-orange head that lasted. Clear. Very good lacing. Flavor is very sweet and malty with a slightly spicy twinge. Also tastes of alcohol and burbon. Heavily sweet. Not bitter at all. Full body. Average carbonation. A little thick. Long, alcohol flavored finished. Trooper11 (464), Suffolk, Virginia, USA Dec 3, 2006 Deep amber color not quit copper, nice foamy head. Aroma is fresh bread with notes of sweet malt. Heavy, thick feeling, feels like a milk mustache. Gentle bitterness makes way for slightly warming malt flavored beverage. Dry bitter finish. jeremytoni (1070), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Nov 22, 2006 Dark in color, with head that goes away quick enough. Good strong flavor with a nice finish. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 21, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, dark amber golden with a creamy, beige head leaving laces. Fairly full-bodied with distinct, sweet malt and notes of caramel. A touch of hops for balance but overwhelmingly a sweet and richly malty beer. 181106 Ungstrup (14758), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 19, 2006 An orange-amber beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and lesser notes of alcohol. The flavor is also malty with strong caramel notes - and lots of sweetness - almost like caramel ice cream topping, but it also has faint notes of hops and flowers. Heathen (723), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Nov 14, 2006 Bottle poured into Troegenator dimpled mug purchased at the brewery. Orange-red color with nedium tan head. Sweet malt aroma with maybe a hint of sour fruit almost like grapes and apples. Light to medium mouthfeel with good carbonation. Sweet malt and s & sour fruit continue in the flavor. Also I think some tobacco notes underneath. Hides ABV well.
