Tröegs Troegenator Doublebock

There might be a more fitting beverage to celebrate the Steelers Superbowl win, but I guess this is close enough. Bottle thanks to Kramer17801. Smell is very malty and sweet. Like a thick, thick caramel that sticks to the nostrils. Flavor is slightly burnt malt taste and very sweet again. I do not detect much floral or fruity notes at all, but its all about sweet dark hearty malt. This is a fine beer for such a lovely snowy night.

Bottle. Pours light-dark brown, small white head. Good roasted caramel aroma. Sweet flavor of malt and caramel.

(01.30.06) 12 oz brown bottle obtained from trade with Thaichile. 8.2% ABV. Clear amber hued doublebock ale having small white head. Nice caramel, toasted malt aroma. No discernable carbonation. Medium bodied that starts dry with light sweet malt, caramel/fruity/toasted malt flavors. Finishes dry with light caramel aftertaste. Very good drinkable ale. Thanks Thaichile!

pours dark amber with a reddish hue, aroma of caramel malts and bread, flavor is caramel like, carbonated, hops are present, and sweet, good body not a bad brew.

Troegenator Double Bock is brewed with Pilsner, Munich, and Chocolate malts, then hopped with both Hallertau and Saaz hop varieties. It is then largered, and comes in at a warming 8.2% abv, making it a stylistically flawless example of a classic German beer style. This beer is rich, smooth, flavorful, and warming, everything a good double bock should be. Troegenator pours to a beautiful, bright, deep bronze color with a slight white head that fades, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose on this beer is wonderful, with deep aromas of toasty/nutty sweet malt, slight grassy hop aroma, and some peppery alcohol. The palate is as impressive as the nose, with a sea of deep sweet malty, toasty, and nutty flavors that are just so smooth, round, and clean on the palate. Troegenator finishes with more deep malty character up front, and is balanced out to complete perfection, with just the right amount of grassy/spicy hop bitterness to give this beer sublime balance.

Draft Pours a copper red with a light brown head. Aroma was malty of carmel and a little sweetness. Taste was well balanced. Good mix of malts and hops. Nice carbonation and a good light bitter finish. This is another great beer from the brothers.

A dark amber pour with a hint of red. Head was small, light brown in color and faded quickly. Aroma was sweet caramel and malty. Flavor was more malty than the nose with a touch of sweetness and a small bitter bite at the end. Excellent beer, this will be a stocked beer in my collection.

12 oz bottle. Pours a coppery red, with a light brown head. Compex, sweet breadlike nose - somewhat malty, but so much more in there! Sweet bread, honey, brown sugar. Flavors are not quite as sweet as the nose, but the malts, bread and honey are all well represented. Body is rich, but not to the point of overkill, and the finish is malty with a touch of bitter - but not much! A very nice doppel!
