Commercial Description:
For periods of fasting without solid foods, Monastic brewers relied on the double bock; a stronger, richer beer to fulfill their basic nutritional needs. Known to them as "liquid bread", a double bock has a strong malt aroma and chewy rich body. In the spirited tradition of naming a double bock in the suffix "ator," we give you Troegenator to provide warmth and richness through the early spring months.

Thanks to Willblake for sending this fine trade beer! Hazy deep amber with a quickly diminishing off white head. Malty aroma. The malt on the tongue is right but the body is a bit thin. No alcohol apparent. Body and flavor of a Dunklesbock.

22oz bottle. Pours a deep slightly hazed brown with a small tan head. Big sweet malty nose with raisins, dates, figs etc. Flavor was again quite sweet and malty. Body was medium, a great Doppelbock.

Nutty nose with sweet notes of molassis, brown beer with a thin sheet upon constant siwrling. Nutty, sweet malty flavors, needs a little more hop balancing as it somehwat drowning in malts, but overall not bad.

12 oz. bottle via trade with MrBendo - Pours a clear reddish copper color with a 3/4 finger thick light tan head. Faint spotty lacing. Aroma is bready malt and herbal hops. Flavor is lightly sweetened toasted malt. Palate has a good hop bit. Medium body. A good beer. Thanks Todd.

9-26-2007 bottling date. Clear copper color with a fleeting tan head. Big malty sweet bread yeasty aroma. Medium body. Good taste mirrors the aroma with dark caramel, earthy molasses and bready yeast. Classic bock flavors here.

Bottles in trade form Hopdog and Leftmindedrighty. Thanks!
Pours a dark clear reddish color with a smallish creamy beige head. Smell is lightly smoky and sweet, musty malts. Tastes lightly smoky and a touch tart with toasty biscuity and caramel maltiness. Slight taste of alcohol in the finish. Full body and soft to medium carbonation. Pretty good beer, but just don’t think I was in the mood for this today.

Dark brown pour with tan head and lace. Aroma of brown sugar and rich roasted malt. Flavor is full malt with hints of light bitter. Nice mouthfeel and carbonation. Very good DB.
