| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2004 Bottle: Light brown with an orange tint. Headless after a minute. Sweet nutty nose. Rich, chewy malts are sweet and somewhat caramelly. This is a big Doppelbock, with firey hints of cigar tobacco and alcohol. Dry and grainy at the finish, leaving a sweet and gritty aftertaste. Slightly rough around the edges, a clean, firey beer! BeerLimey (1873), California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 1, 2007 12 Oz Bottle. Hay and wheat fields, robust with light fruit esters and sweet nuttiness. Reserved and somewhat plain. Pours a nice florid amber, deeper in tone, with a silky, creamed head of brazil nut flesh. Flavor is a curt, bitter presentation. With overdone dryness, parching nuts and a ragged edge of hop resins. Warming alcohols add an edge of pleasure, but there’s something just not amazing about this beer. Not distasteful, but untenable. Finishes in some old lemon clothes, spoiled with honey. LinusStick (1861), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 7, 2007 A nice a fruity doppelbock with a hint of caramel and malt. The scary man on the label looks like he is hypnotizing me to give this a higher rating...my complaint with this beer is the heavy carbonation. Sorry old guy with horns..you are very good but not great. Please don’t eat my children. SDbruboy (1833), San Diego, California, USA

Pours beautiful dark peachy-copper color with a creamy off-white head that diminishes mostly. Aroma is rich and full of fruity malts and light spice. Sweet, malty flavor, raisins, a bit nutty and with a definite alcohol presence. Full body and gently carbonation. Nice winter warmer. Dorwart (1832), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2003 Decent head of light amber foam that lasts for a while. Slightly dry aroma with a touch of fruit. Nothing really jumps out at me though. Color is a beautiful medium amber red. Flavor is a little weak for a dopplebock but plesant with a touch of honey and molasses. Finish is a little dry and pasty but smooth with a nice alcohol warming. A decnt dopplebock with a great label.
