Commercial Description:
For periods of fasting without solid foods, Monastic brewers relied on the double bock; a stronger, richer beer to fulfill their basic nutritional needs. Known to them as "liquid bread", a double bock has a strong malt aroma and chewy rich body. In the spirited tradition of naming a double bock in the suffix "ator," we give you Troegenator to provide warmth and richness through the early spring months.

One of the best beers according to my mouth. beware of the troegenator. I don’t like the new design.

Strong sweet malt aroma hints of fruit. Dark amber color with not much of a head. Lots of sweetness with this one. Creamy mouth feel.

Pours a lacing tan head with a red brown body that is clear. Smells like dogfood. Flavors of caramel and roasted malt. Roasted malt finish with the residual sweetness of the malts.

Paid $1.49 for a 12-oz single. Deep orange-copper color with a very small head that disappears quickly. Sweet malts in the nose... flavors are malty, roasty, slightly fruity... and finishes with just a bite of spiced alcohol.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with a thin light tan head no lacing. Aroma is malty and nutty which translates to the tongue in a dry,, nutty malt doppelbock. Some sweetness evident, but fairly bland and grainy in character. A bit light and crisp for a doppel. Lacks the richness and depth that defines a good doppelbock.

Not bad, I enjoyed the hoppy aroma and flavour. Colour is nice but the cost might not be worth the beer you buy. Enjoyed it more than the HopBock from Troegs

deep red brown color, medium short lived head, rich aroma of malt , caramel, touch of sweet spices. smooth malty base with a caramel component in the taste. nice hop presence balances outr the rich malt and makes this very drinkable for a strong beer. this holds up wellin comparison with most german doppelbocks except andechs and unionsbrau.

A little disappointing. Pretty average doppelbock. Dark brown in color. Slight alcohol burn. Caramel tones, decent roasted malt, but missing something.
