Nice amber pour with lots of flavors bouncing around. The drawback may be there are a few too many. Deceivingly strong based on the flavor.

Roasty caramel aroma. Fruity malty flavor that competes with the alcohol to its detriment.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow! An in-your-face tsunami of flavor. Rich malts balanced with hops and mild sweetness. A mighty style that has too much alcohol and sweetness for me, but a quality beer nonetheless.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deceptively light. Thin mouth feel. Malts. Rich aftertaste. Easy to drink. Not as powerful as most other double Bocks I’ve had.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bready and sweet aroma. Non clinging aftertaste. Slight heat like a generic cough syrup. I know these are weird descrips, but it’s funny what one person’s taste and smell are to another. Anyhow, my first Troegs Bros. and I will pursue them further....not in a romantic way...you know what I mean. Very good D Bock!

This was a nice surprise from Troegs. Bronze color, malty nose and little spice. Well done.

An acceptable example of a Doppelbock, there are surely better ones out there. Good amber-red color and decent aroma. Thin tan head that disappears quickly. Taste is smooth, malty, light and a bit thin. Flavor fades quickly. Alcohol is there but does not take over.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Somewhat of a strong malt aroma. Light brown to copper in color. Very clear in appearance, with moderate carbonation and a slight head. Very easy going down, no bitterness or aftertaste. A very smooth overall mouthfeel. I consider this a good tasting beer with no harsh aftertaste. Will buy again.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a ruddy brown. Strong plum, dark fruit aroma with matching flavor. Touch of munich malt in the background, but subsumed by strong dark caramel malts (120/special B). Would liked to have tasted more bready malt, less caramel--a bit cloying for a dopplebock.

4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours deep amber with little to no head. Light malty caramel nose. Taste is malty and sweet with a slight warming. Alcohol is nicely carried with similarities to a barelywine, but with a deeper maltiness. Love it!
