COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For periods of fasting without solid foods, Monastic brewers relied on the double bock; a stronger, richer beer to fulfill their basic nutritional needs. Known to them as "liquid bread", a double bock has a strong malt aroma and chewy rich body. In the spirited tradition of naming a double bock in the suffix "ator," we give you Troegenator to provide warmth and richness through the early spring months.

Bottle. Poured a warm amber-brown color with minimal head. Great sweet aroma that follows through in the taste. Malt flavor really comes through for bit of extra sweetness up front and then a nice, warm finish.

16oz can from Pinnochio’s. Pours a deep, reddish brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma is malty, coffee, toffee, nutty. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, some bread, nutty, a little chocolate, toffee, raisin, just a touch of hop bitterness, with a sweet, caramel finish. Tasty.

Appearance- light tan bubbly head (like a mocha latte). Dissipated quickly and minimal lacing. Fairly dark, mahogany, amber, copper. Smell- clean, malty, sweet, fruit (raisins), spices. Sherry-like. Very pleasant. Taste- reminded me of a scotch ale. Sweet, malty, caramel. Mouthfeel- light to medium body. Creamy. Well balanced. Overall- a very nice beer. A good effort by a great brewery at a Dopplebock. Most impressed by the evenly balanced mouthfeel given the various aromas and tastes happening in this brew. Would have again and definitely recommend. Cheers!

A fantastic doublebock, my favorite offering from Troegs. Beautiful reddish brown - call it mahogany, dark amber, whatever, it’s pretty. Light tan or beige head, creamy and medium-bodied. Packs a nice ABV punch. Mildly sweet with molasses and caramel overtones. Pleasant long finish.

Couleur ambrée sombre, bonne mousse beige. Bon nez de malt caramel. Gout malté caramel avec notes douces sucrées et houblonnées.

Pours rich mahogany with a small tan head. Smells bready, caramel, and hints of earthy hops. Taste is sweet, caramel, hints of spice, bread. Full-bodied with a slick texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Tröegs Troegenator Doublebock finishes with a lingering sweetness.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark, reddish amber. Thin tan head. Malty, caramel aroma. Initial sweetness that finishes with a good bit of spice. Certainly bready but somewhat oily.

appearance; rich amber in color. lightly carbonated, pours with a little head fading to just a ring around glass clear aroma: smells of malts and toffee, warming alcohol can be smelled also taste tastes of sweet malt and warming alcohol notes at end. mouthfeel: thick full body beer that’s smooth. Warming alcohol taste at end. drinkability: good beer but not too many at one time because of the high alcohol content. notes could use a liitle bit more carbonation. this also is a good beer for cellaring.

Quite simply, this brew is delicious in all the ways a beer can be judged. Pricey, but worth every cent.

Pours a beautiful deep deep amber. Sweet aromas of dark fruits. Taste is dark cherries up front then a quick bubbly hit of hops. Finishes super smooth with a bready character. Good stuff.

12 ounce bottle. Deep copper brown pour. Small bubbly beige head. Rich bready caramel malt nose. Sweet toasted malt flavor. Notes of brown sugar, vanilla, dried dark fruit and baked bread. Chewy mouthfeel. Spicy hops in finish. Very tasty and true to the Doppelbock style.
