A good beer. An interesting aroma but promising flavor. It goes down smoothly and provides a crisp finish. Good overall but nothing spectacular.

Draft. Dark amber color with a weak tan head. Big malt aromas. Sweet, sticky mouth feel and flavor. Loads of malt, burnt sugar and grain.

Wow! An in-your-face tsunami of flavor. Rich malts balanced with hops and mild sweetness. A mighty style that has too much alcohol and sweetness for me, but a quality beer nonetheless.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From a tallboy(bonus points) into an imperial pint. Pours a dark brown but slightly translucent. Mild sweet honey and agave aroma. Mouthfeel is very medium. I expected it to be heavier but it was still very lager-like. Taske was sweet smoky water minerals birch beer and Peat. Ok but I was expecting more.

Very nice hearty beer. Malty and somewhat sweet. Deep rich reddish brown in color, light and crisp carbonation. Alcohol is very well hidden.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark chestnut coloured with a ruby-red shine, small, tanned head.
Smell of chocolate, coffee, nuts, biscuit. Sweet, coffeelike taste, dark malts, caramel and at the end hints of hoppyness balancing it quite well. Full body, low to medium carbonation, sweet and heavily malty finish.

High alcohol content is wonderful. The beer is very thick and has a lot of spices. Not my choice.

Draft into pint glass. Pours a light cola brown with a small head. Aroma of fresh bread and molasses. Tastes is sweet bread, molasses and dark fruit. Very rich and sweet, but the sugar isnt over powering. Slightly chewy mouthfeel. I could envision simmering this down and pouring it all over vanilla ice cream.

This beer is like a meal, and a tasty meal at that. Great malt backbone and a sweet caramel bready deliciousness follows. Ends with a toasted flavor and it is real solid overall.

Pours dark amber/red. Aroma caramel and bread. Taste of caramel malts, butterscotch and roasted malt. Full bodied sweet, with little bitterness. Finish, lingering malty, bready sweetness. Alcohol slightly apparent. Great example of a Double Bock from my favorite brewer.
