Troegs is an excellent brewery. Troegenator is malty and bready in flavor with a knock out punch. Could easily pass for a German doppelbock.

Poured from bottle, love the artwork, into stem glass. Pours a wonderful ruby red. A thick short lasting head. Very light cO2 action in glass. The aroma is of roasted malt, and a little earth. Silky on the tongue. Roasted malt dominates the flavor there is a small hop note but the malt comes through to the finish. I pick up a little nut at the end. Although one of my favorite styles to begin with this one is near the top of my list. My nicely done, enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep ruby red with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, cherries and earth. Taste is full and sweet up front with a little hop presence in the finish but not quite enough to mask the ABV, or clean away the malt flavor that remains.

12 ox bottle from Baruni’s in Baden, PA. Lots of goodness here, especially from the heavy malt and general chewiness. If you like your brew on the sweeter end you’ll appreciate this one.

Deep copper, clear, beige head. Aroma: big Munich malt, toffee, unfermented wort-like aroma, a little honey. Flavor is fairly sweet with a big Munich character, toffee, nutty notes, sweet finish.

Very sweet aroma, almsot like cherries. Very bready body, with malty sweetness. Very well done, tons of flavor full bodied but not heavy. Very nice, but one is enough for one sitting.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sixtel at home. Pours a clear dark amber with a ruby hue under a small tight bubbled beige head. The nose is malty and sweet, very clean lagering, light alcohol, really nice dark fruits. The flavor is pretty nice, big chewy sweet maltiness without being cloying or sticky. Rich dark fruit notes of fig and plum, enough alcohol to let you know there’s a kick to it but not enough that it overpowers. Thick and chewy body with a mouth coating sweet maltiness, a slight bit of alcohol on the finish. Really nice American Dopplebock.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A nice db...maltiness that you want with sweet, warming flavors like cherry and vanilla present. Higher ABV than expected but it works well here.
