3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught Deep-brown beer with orangeish reflections and a small, dense, beige, Guinness-like head, with classic lace. Very roasted, molasses-like nose, burnt toffee, and a mossy aroma. Quite sweet, sweetish chocolate, with cigarette ash retronasal. Dries up in the palate, leaving some grainy impression with roasted notes. Drier chocolate in the aftertaste, very slick, medium bodied or better. Nice, if rather sweet heavy stout. Drinks better than the marks might suggest.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. A reddish chestnut-brown beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops, caramel, nuts, and malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of citrusy hops as well as some notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and chocolate, leading to a very bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a reddish brown with a slight haze and a small creamy off-white head. Roasted malty nose - almost hard roasted - with some present alcohol. Medium body, hard roasted malt and a little vanilla. I really don’t pick up any spices - this is more of a Stout really. Malt bitter finish. Nice. 230310

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
33 cl. bottle. Description on their website says this beer is in the style of the Schwarzbiers of Germany’s Black Forest. However, I find it to be more like a Baltic Porter. Anyway, nice head. Dark brown almost black color. Aroma of light hops and burnt malt. Taste is sweeter with a nice balance between chocolate/dark burnt malt and hops. Very drinkable, good beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Le Tonneau Verre, Yverdon
Very dark color, almost black; nice creamy head. The aroma has dusty bread, roasted malt, roasted nuts. Not heavy, but the body is well structured; balanced mix of roasted malt and chocolate; it gets more bitter and dry at the end, where maybe it’s possible to feel some of the bitter oranges used; for my liking, the malt is just a bit too burnt in the end. Well brewed.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
courtesy of Laurent Mousson - dark black colour with a solid foamy dark beige head; nice lacing; the nose is fairly roasted with aromas of black chocolate and oranges; quite full malt backbone, tasty and slightly sticky; some sweetness, a decent bitterness introduces a long chocolatey, slightly spicy and gently fruity finish - nice shot again from Raphaël!
