33cl bottle. Small tan head atop muddy dark brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, bittersweet chocolate, raisin, molasses, light cinnamon, cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit/orange, roast, bittersweet chocolate, some raisin/grape. Medium body, light stickiness, undercarbonated.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Strykzone (3814) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - OCT 8, 2010
Quite dark with plenty of red. Absolutely no head and only a very thin ring on the glass. A thin and unique aroma. It is odd vegetable and peat. Flavor is also odd. Deep earthiness, some hoppy sourness, some kind of vegetable stuff. Some soy sauce and dark fruit. A bit of that peat emerges on the finish. This is just not one that I want to try again.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - OCT 7, 2010
Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet dark caramel and raisin nose with some plum notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and a light carbonation with a soft lightly sweet milk chocolate flavor and roasty bitterness. Finishes drier and bittersweet with some dark chocolate notes and coffee. An enjoyable and drinkable imperial stout.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Travlr (7984) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - SEP 18, 2010
Draft at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, tasted side by side with the apricot schnapps barrel aged version. This was sweeter, more caramel, pepper, butterscotch. Less complexity. More drinkable.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 altonbrownd (4210) - Brussels, BELGIUM - SEP 10, 2010
On tap at Moeder Lambic. Dark brown with top tan head. Malty sugar nose. Taste of wheat, sugar, caramel, citrus. Quite watery and oily. A bit odd, really.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 marcus (5010) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 9, 2010
Bottle from City Beer. Pours black with a thin beige head and an herbal aroma. There is a sweetish dark malt flavor with a strange vegetable taste and dry bitter finish. Not very pleasant.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 badlizard (5158) - Berkeley, California, USA - AUG 31, 2010

Seems more like an imperial stout and labeled as such. Pours black with slight tan head. Nose is licorice, grape and roasted malts. Taste of licorice, roasted malts and chocolate.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 drpimento (1936) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 4, 2010
Bottle says both "Imperial Stout" & "Ale Brewed With Spices", so it could be in a couple of categories. Anyway, poured with a small, light tan head that quickly subsided and no lace. Color is a hazy, very dark, almost opaque, brown. Aroma is roasty and malty. Flavor is simple and like aroma. I don’t pick up much in the way of spices - perhaps cinnamon. Body and carbonation are ok. Finish is like flavor and short and just a bit of alcohol at the very end. Not worth the price.
