COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Black Bise is back, except that the animal was adapted to better IMPRINT in the range of the brewery. High fermentation black, with a mixture of special malts calibrated to give it body, roundness and needed a winter beer presence, without falling into the bland. It as 7.2%, so caution. This beer is brewed from September to March.

330ml bottle poured in a chalice. Nice Trois Dames specimen but I was expecting a bit more from an Imperial Stout. A: Deep caramel color with a medium bubbled beige head when poured. Reasonable retention. Dissipates leaving some lacings around. A thin beige layer remains for some time S: Sweet and sour (bit orange acid). Roasted malts and plums. Spicy end T: Sweet upfront. Roasted malts. Plums. Fresh hops. A bit sour. Nice bitterness M: Medium body and carbonation. No alcohol D: Good [ BA Review @ 8/10/2010 ]

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a reddish brown with a slight haze and a small creamy off-white head. Roasted malty nose - almost hard roasted - with some present alcohol. Medium body, hard roasted malt and a little vanilla. I really don’t pick up any spices - this is more of a Stout really. Malt bitter finish. Nice. 230310

Bottle. Thinner slightly tan head on a very dark, reddish brown color that has some orange highlights around. Some light spiciness in the aroma, some light fruit, faint hint of citrus and some yeastiness. Tastes a bit sweeter than in the aroma, but lots of flavor does show up after quite a muted aroma. Nice wintery spice, touch of fig and toast. Nicely warming. Mediumish body with vibrant carbonation. Little syrupy, but in a nice way. Really comes through with the taste.
