Dark, toffee brown color. Small creamy almost tan colored head. Minimal lacing. Smells of chocolate, raisins and plums. A slight artificial aroma, like fake chocolate. Tastes malty and cereal like. Nice and sweet. Creamy mouthfeel, and a slight roastiness left behind. Decent beer.

Bottle from Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Pours a thick colour with a fully dissapating white head. Aromas of dark malts, dried fruit, and cocoa. Lighter mouthfeel than the colour suggests. Tastes of anise, malts, and is very slightly sour. A very nice winter sipper!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (7308) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - APR 10, 2010
Draught Deep-brown beer with orangeish reflections and a small, dense, beige, Guinness-like head, with classic lace. Very roasted, molasses-like nose, burnt toffee, and a mossy aroma. Quite sweet, sweetish chocolate, with cigarette ash retronasal. Dries up in the palate, leaving some grainy impression with roasted notes. Drier chocolate in the aftertaste, very slick, medium bodied or better. Nice, if rather sweet heavy stout. Drinks better than the marks might suggest.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CapFlu (4010) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 2, 2012
(33cl bottle) Day2 of the 2012 Advent Calendar. Pours a medium beige head atop a black body. Nose of sherry, red licorice and cocoa powder. Very sharp, sour front with a grainy yeast mid-palate. Not sweet and totally different aroma from flavour. Hides the 7.2% ABV exceptionally well. Good.

Bottled. Poured medium-brown with a short-lived, yellowy-beige head. The aroma picked up sweet, toasted chocolate and black malts with plenty of cardamom, vanilla, and some herbs around.. fresh, greener hoppy accents.. welcoming. The flavor found well-toasted chocolate, vanilla, and molasses notes at the core.. cardamom, cinnamon, and lightly sour malty notes around.. finished with warm spices over molasses and a touch of maple. Medium-bodied with a spotty flow through the palate.. more tart/sour toward the back-end.. OK feel and flow.. decent beer.

On tap at Moeder Lambic. Dark brown with top tan head. Malty sugar nose. Taste of wheat, sugar, caramel, citrus. Quite watery and oily. A bit odd, really.
