COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Black Bise is back, except that the animal was adapted to better IMPRINT in the range of the brewery. High fermentation black, with a mixture of special malts calibrated to give it body, roundness and needed a winter beer presence, without falling into the bland. It as 7.2%, so caution. This beer is brewed from September to March.

Flat...hardly any carbonation. Great aroma with good chocolate and cherries. The malt is really good, but it is so flat that it really represents a problem. The flavor does’t really come out. This might be a shipping problem, and this might be an amazing beer in Switzerland, but it wasn’t that great for me.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a one finger fizzy light brown head that left a bit of lacing. The nose is really quite interesting. Not sure if I like it or not. It smells a bit more like grape jelly than beer. Not sure what kind of spices are used here, but they are certainly overpowering the malt in the aroma. The harder I try, the more I get a little roast and chocolate, but it’s in the background. The flavor is a little sweet and spicy with some dark roast malt. Lighter bodied for an Imperial Stout, a touch clingy on the finish, with soft minimal carbonation. Not really my kind of Imperial Stout, much like the coffee one that I had from them. Makes me want an Expedition Stout.

Bottled (thanks K.S.!). Deep murky brown colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is ashy, chocolaty with some roasted malts and mild herbal and wooden notes. Flavour is sweetish grainy maltyness with some slight spices, roast, mild earth and some slight berries. Also some slight alcohol to be noted.

Bottle from Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Pours a thick colour with a fully dissapating white head. Aromas of dark malts, dried fruit, and cocoa. Lighter mouthfeel than the colour suggests. Tastes of anise, malts, and is very slightly sour. A very nice winter sipper!

belle stout, bien de la couleur avec une petite mousse beige. manque de longueur en bouche et assez buvable, pas trop lourde mais quand même pleine en bouche.

Draught Deep-brown beer with orangeish reflections and a small, dense, beige, Guinness-like head, with classic lace. Very roasted, molasses-like nose, burnt toffee, and a mossy aroma. Quite sweet, sweetish chocolate, with cigarette ash retronasal. Dries up in the palate, leaving some grainy impression with roasted notes. Drier chocolate in the aftertaste, very slick, medium bodied or better. Nice, if rather sweet heavy stout. Drinks better than the marks might suggest.
