Pitch black color with light brown foam. The smell is intense and mint heavy, like after eight. The taste is rather smooth and is more subtile about the mint, so the flavor doesn’t overwhelm everything else. Dryish aftertaste with hints of mint as well. Quite minty in general, but one should expect that, regarding the label.

Black color with small beige head. Minty-chocolaty aroma, basically after eight. Taste is rather sweetvmilk chocolate and mint. Works out much better than I had expected. Soft carbonation.

330ml bottle served in a chalice. A: Pours a dark brown cloudy color forming a medium beige head. Low retention and some lacings left S: Great. Sweet. Dark chocolate, coffee, mint and roasted malts T: Follows the nose: Sweet candy sugar upfront followed by dark chocolate, coffee, mint and roasted malts. A bit sour. Light hops bitterness M: Medium creamy and molasses body. Medium to low carbonation. Sweet upfront and mild bitter end. Aftertaste is mainly chocolate and mint O: Good drinkability. Interesting combination of Stout and mint. Recommended [ BA Review @ 7/14/2012 ]

Bottle @ Baran, Bergen. Pours a jet black body with a medium creamy white head. Aroma is chocolate, mint, coffee, grains and hints of sour straw tones. Taste is chocolate, mint, herbs, grass and hints of coffee and grains. Full body, medium carbonation. The mint thing isn’t really working for me, but it’s still pretty nice.

Schwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch stark nach Minze, leicht röstmalzig, Schokolade. Es schmeckt sehr nach Minze, röstmalzig, angenehm cremig, schokoladig, erdig.

The head is ok, body dark brown-red. It smells darkmalty, intensive, mince. The taste is intensive mince, darkmalty, bit hoppy. Ok but a bit to much mice in my opinion.

Dark brown color, big cloudy brownish head, lace.Strong mint aroma with some caramel and yeast, sourness and vegetables. Medium-bodied. Mint, light chocolate and then tartness. Maybe hints of infection. Mint and beer don’t work.

0.33l bottle @ Baran. It looks as good as black in this glass. I think a bright brown ale would look black in this lightning, but as far as I can see this is deep and dark black in color. The nose is light sweet and, medicinal and herbal with traces of chocolate. It has a soft almost creamy light oily mouthfeel and it’s below average on the carbonation level. The taste is kinda spicy in a way. I get licorice, leather, roasted malts and it’s loaded with herbs in the finish! A different one indeed, but it’s not directly bad either. 26.07.2013
