Bottle - 330ml. Hazy dark brown body with a good beige foamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with grainy and woody hints. Taste is slightly dominated by hoppy flavors. It carries malty and some roasted cereals notes. Ends with a decent bitter/grainy finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of deep caramelized malt with strong earthy hops that don’t really mesh with the malt notes. Taste is also a bit off balance between some strongly caramelized malt with quite a lot of residual sugars and some earthy with light pine notes that don’t really holds against the huge malt backbone. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Weird one and not something I would seek again.

My Bottom Line :
Chestnuts and roasted malts meet wooden, earthy hop resins in this bitter Brown IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the blackened brown.
-Body is lean and effervescence soft.
-Drinkability is rather high.
-Nose is deficient; either the hops are tired in this bottle, or it was a poor hop choice for these malts.
-Nascent fruity acidity isn’t too fitting.

11.2oz bottle in a tulip. Pours very dark brown with a lacy, light beige head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, and some roasted and chocolate malts plus a little smokiness. Average texture. A pretty good beer.

330ml bottle from IPB.
Appearance : Deep amber with medium foamy brown head.
Aroma : Rubber and phenolic notes. Caramel and piny citrusy hops. Lots of caramel, not much roasted malt. Why is this a Black IPA ?
Taste : Citrusy and piny with nice caramel. No phenolic notes. Finish nicely hoppy with pine and citrusy notes, nice roasted caramel too.
Overall : Either I’ve got the wrong beer or the style for this is wrong. This is not a black IPA but just an IPA with lots of caramel malt. Nose is slightly off because of the phenolic notes. Taste is pretty good, nice mouthfeel, nice hops. Nice long well balanced finish. Pretty good.
