2012-06-10, bottle, 6.3% ABV, bb 2013-01, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Cloudy light amber color, with medium sized head. The aroma of fruity hops is mild but nice. The toffee flavor is good as usual, the hop has a clear orange character, hop resins and some bergamot.
Good but not impressive, nor fresh as other times.

2011-07-21, bottle, 6.5% ABV, 7-3-7-4-15=36
Golden color. The aroma is only initially fruity, then it shows more sweaty hops, with a cereal-like side and light chamomile. The balanced flavor is less interesting than usual, with a pleasant toffee and grassy presence; strong bitterness, with hop oils, some resins and no special fruity hop. Just an ordinary IPA.
It’s bb 2011-12, therefore it may be 7-8 months old; just purchased 2 days ago, the freshness and availability of this beer should become more of a concern to Trois Dames…

I can’t resist going back to this beer.
It’s the new batch, recognizeable from the new label style.
It pours a hazy orange-amber color; the head reduces to a thin but persistent layer. The aroma is smashing the senses: impressive hop aroma, fruity; the presence of grapefruit and passion fruit makes me believe the recipe has changed, possibly with the introduction of Nelson Sauvin; but there is more, notably some light yeast spiciness, cream and, oh Lord, the crispy malt of the best German Pilsners. Poetry in a scent.
It’s not surprising, no it’s surprising, to face a battle of flavors, as suggested by the nose; malt (dry and crispy, with traces of cereals), then the fruity hops (oranges and grapefruit), and a light yeast trace that adds complexity.
The final, bold as expected, is rather dry; but the passion fruit finds again its path.
Gorgeous!

2009-10-24, draught, "Nuit de la Fraîcheur" at the brewery, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Cloudy light amber color; creamy head. Creamy hop aroma, a bit fruity and sweaty. Very good body structure, full, smooth mouthfeel. Very good malt flavor, and hopping, sweaty, resiny, partially fruity. Long final. Excellent.

2009-04-07, bottle, 8-5-8-5-17=43
The Amarillo and Simcoe mix creates a wonderful aroma, fruity, resiny, if possible earthy too. Excellent toffee flavor, just sweet to please, with a powerful hopping, taking in some resins and a mix of bitter oranges and hints of mango. The final too is balanced, strong, bitter and lightly sweet, very long. And it makes me forget that the alcohol is low. The more I’m drinking, the more I like this beer.

Hazy golden color, small head. Delicate aroma, more fuity than hoppy, light apricots. Very good toffee flavor, light residual sweetness but with a lean mouthfeel, with a very strong hopping, a lot of hop oils, sharp, with a good fruity component, of oranges and grapefruit. Balanced as all Trois Dames beers. Excellent.

2009-04-02, bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Hazy dark blond color; medium to small head. Nice hop aroma, on the grassy side. Good toffee and caramel flavor, quite smooth mouthfeel, powerful bitterness, with some final resins and a touch of bitter oranges. Balanced and easily drinkable, with a very long final.

Cloudy copper color, medium head. Nice hop aroma, a bit resiny. Medium body strength, with very good toffee flavor, a bit creamy, complemented by a powerful hopping, bringing dry resins and bitter orange fruitness. Very long final, with toffee and a lot of resins. Very good.

Thanks to Allen for this 33 cl, bb Aug 09. Hazy, orange-amber with a creamy, enduring half-inch head. Delicious aroma of earthy resin, pineapple and nectarine. Flavor starts similarly, but slides slowly to a big finish of orange-grapefruit and resin hops. Some earthy honeycomb tastes as well. Medium body is creamy smooth, tongue-tingly and hop-dry. Frosty lace all over the pint. Great hop blend in this IPA, please bring it to the States!

11.2 oz brown bottle. It pours an unfiltered amber/orange with a foamy white head that leaves some nice speckled lacing as it slowly recedes. The smell is quite interesting. It is a unique hop bill for sure. There is a huge amount of bitter orange zest and grapefruit zest, some flowery scents, herbs, and some earthiness. The malt is bready with a hint of caramel and malt sugars. The flavor has a bit of what the smell hinted at. IT has some caramel, some sweet dough, orange, some herbal notes, some light fruit notes, and a medium to low bitterness that lingers int eh aftertaste nicely. It could have used a bit more bitterness, but for a balanced IPA it is very good. This brewery is a real interesting one, I think I;m gonna have to try all of their beers available. Pours hazy brown with nice white head. Hoppy fresh malty aroma, very nice! Sweetish malty, fresh soothing flavor with distinguished acidy bitterness. Lovely round & bitter fresh on the palate. Finish is sharp/sweet/bitter att the same time, Mmmm... great.

33cl bottle bb 12/2012 -- Hazy golden orange with huge foam of big bubbles, persistant. Aroma is fresh, complex, citric, flowery hops.Tastes fruity, grapefruit, sourish with a good bitterness. Medium bodied, rather strong carbomated.

11.2 ounce bottle at Pizzeria Paradiso. Dull golden color, edge head. Aroma of fresh grass. Taste is bubblegum, citrus, grass, slight bitter finish. Very tasty.

UPDATED: SEP 26, 2008 Bottled, thanks Bov! Clear golden, near no head. Strong lychee aroma. Dryish with clean rounded mouthfeel. Very hoppy with peach, winegum and grapefruit. Really bitter finish. Top stuff from a top brewer!

Pretty good beer; so far, the best I’ve had out of Switzerland. Poured with a small to medium sized off white head that fades to a light soapy cover and some lace. Color is a clear medium amber. Aroma is hops, caramel, malt, toffee, grain, grass, and a bit of barn. Flavor is like aroma, not overly sweet, or overly bitter - just right. Body is on the soft side, full, and good carbonation. Finish is bitter, then sweet, then sweet on the edges of the tongue, bitter on top and has some length. Session beer.

Pours a hazy amber with nice, tight, isf small head. Intense resiny, grassy, herbal hops in the nose, with a solid malt base, which transfers beautifully on the palate into a beautifully balanced, hoppy IPA, with plenty of seville orange jam and a touch of red fruit. Crisp, lingering, very bitter finish. Again, very untypical of a Swiss brewery, but completely true to style and convincing.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2009 beautyfull muddy orange color with offwhite layer smells yeasty and hoppywith a hidden hint of lowers and herbs ( a little bit like dulix!? thats a swiss herbal paste if your muscels are hurting) tasts hoppy malty , some hidden fruit aftertaste bitterness,hops and a hidden hint of bergamotte-fruit
