yellow hazy beer, white foamy head. smells of basil, yeasty, with a hidden fruity hint and a hint like corriander. tasts bittersweet, of basil, herbal, with a nice bitter ending

Draft at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a hazy light golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have floral and herbal hops, especially on the nose, pale malt, basil is noticeable, some yeast, moderately sweet. Not something I would seek out again.

Tap sample. Poured clear yellow color with an average white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium spice aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced spice flavor with a medium dark sweet finish of moderate duration. Interesting beer.

Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Totally hazy golden, slightly orange color. Thin ring of white head, couple ropes of lace. Perfumey hop aroma, some musty old hop type taste. Just a hint of basil.. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter, kind of creamy carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Moderate sweet taste, lightly zesty. OK witbier. Kind of spicy and peppery, don’t really get much basil from it. A bit yeasty, with an odd sort of soapy hop aroma.

Bottle @ Tröls. Wheat, spices, basil, and grass. Not to my taste, the basil is way to dominant, but i would be interesting to try with food.

It smells intensive, basilicum, fresh, aromatic. The taste is fresh basilicum, intensive, malty, strange but tasty.

Hazy yellow color, small white head. Herbal, citric-tart aroma. Light bodied, watery palate. Light orange peely fruityness, herbal notes. Herbs don’t work in beer like this.

Bottle@Home. Very typical spices in the aroma, floral and fruity. Hazy, pale yellow, off-white head, good lace. Light malty, loads of basil, medium bitter. Typical but nice and still refreshing.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar. Pours blonde with a nice white head and a floral aroma. There is a medium-bodied pale malt flavor with a little hop bitterness.

I absolutly adore this one. The first sip is a bit confusing, but as you get on, you really get the basil. Nothing better on a hot summer day, but sadly not as easy to get.

Bouteille 33cl du Grain d’Orge à Crissier. BB 04/2014.
