Bottle [from Euro Swap 2016-2, thanks to Anstei] @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy pale yellow color, average sized white head. Aroma is pesto and basil. Weird and not horrible, but in a beer...? Not my thing. It also tastes like pesto and basil. I don’t like it, but it’s drinkable. A full bottle would be tough though.

Bottle @ benzai. Hazy very pale yellow colour with a small to medium sized white head. Smells soup, pesto, basil. Tastes weird, herbs, basil. Medium body, slightly fizzy carbo.

Hazy yellow color with white head. Basilic aroma, spicy, a bit citrus. Overall boring. A spicy wit beer which is a bit off.

pale straw-like, floral, citrus, cloudy, minimal head, white foam, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, average carbonation, the basilic is light with a little touch of wheat. Not bad at all.

Cloudy orange color with no foam at all. Thin smell, basil notes between shy witbeer smell. The taste focused on the basil taste which works sufficiently well. On second note it becomes rather boring. It stays a refreshing solid beer with an interesting note. Nice beer with an overall bonus for the experiment.

On bottle at Fork & Bottle, Zurich. Cloudy, pale yellow colour, explosive opening. Acidic lemon aroma blending with basil. Strong acidic fruity flavours moderated by bitter basil and a hint of coriander. Absolutely interesting.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 330ml served in a pint glass. A Belgian Witbier style beer spiced with Basil. A: Pours a cloudy pale yellow color forming a small white thin bubbled head that disappears quickly leaving thin chunks of lacings in the glass. S: Spicy. Basil is evident. Reminds pesto sauce :). Also notes of a Belgian Witbier: Wheat, orange zest, coriander, bready yeasts and flowery hops. Not bad. T: Follows the nose. Strong notes of spices: Basil, coriander, orange zest. Strong notes of pale malts and wheat. Upfront is slightly sweet. In overall, it’s slightly sweet too, but not overwhelming. Mild hops bitterness as expected. M: Light watery body. Medium carbonation. Pesto aftertaste. O: Good drinkability. That’s the first time that I drink a beer tempered with basil. Interesting experience. [ BA Review @ 8/17/2013 ]
