33cl bottle, bier-deluxe Trois Dames sampler. Pours a soggy ochre with greenish hue. Nose is inviting enough, if contained: apparent coriander, some old meadow. Palate and taste defined by heavy wheat malts creating a plethora of ripe fruit notes (apple compote, white grapes). At 7%, a well-made but ponderous "blanche double" very much like Abbaye des Rocs’ Blanche des Honnelles - lacking a fair bit of that invoked "fraîcheur", the main reason for me to reach for a blanche.

0.355l bottle @ Baran. This is a really heavy bottle! Holding it when it’s empty I keep on pouring it over my glass expecting something to come out. Anyhow, it has at first a quite clear yellow golden body but when you get to the bottom it gains a more and more cloudy momentum. It also has a medium sized bright white lingering and soft lacing top. Mild nose really. Wheat sweetness with hay, dried orange zest and some naked human skin. A light sweet candy sweetness also. In the mouth it has a light almost cloudy mouthfeel and it’s just about average on the bubbles. Tastes alright. I get a good amount of white wine grapes here. Lots of hay and wheat with a peppery herbal touch. Soft fruity all the way and it’s quite tasty this. All in all a bit different but nice. 24.01.2014

Bottle, 7%. CO2 aroma. Cloudy pale yellow colour. Good stable chalk white head. The flavour is citric at first, turning wheaty, then citric again. It occurs to me that the citrus comes from grapefruity hops, and not lemon peel. Ends on a boozy note, dry and fruity. This is more like an IPA to me, and not so bad at that.

Bottle from Embrouille - thank you so much! Pours hazy pale straw with airy but stable white head. Clear aroma of yeast, grain aof hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour with estery notes and sourish touches. Bitter and sour aftertaste. Ok, though the taste of alcohol becomes dominating.

Bottle. Bright yellow, very hazy, massive messy clingy white head. Orange rind and delicate florals, clean crackery malts, lightly tart finish. Quite excellent really.
