(Rating #2899)

Bottle, courtesy of Boutip. Pale yellow pour, slightly hazy, almost no head. Mild, very mild aroma of citrus peel and bananas. Taste is also very mild, light citrus peel and wheat. Lively carbonation but absurdely thin palate. Thirst beer.

33cl bottle Hazy orange body, small white foam. Off smelling aroma of bad honey, skunky corn malts, odd chemically aromas. Reasonably thin body, kind of sour, moderate carbonation. Bit of orange flavour of the body followed by lots of skunk and metallic spice. Something wrong with this one i’m afraid.

(bottle, 33cl, courtesy of Allen) Cloudy, pale golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Fresh, yeasty and slightly sweet wheat-malty aroma with notes of citrus, coriander and lighter flowery and zesty notes. Sour and slightly sweet flavour, light bodied with a soft carbonation. Yeasty and citric wheaty taste with moderate coriander spice; dry and sour-fruity wheaty and spicy finish. Refreshing and rounded Witbier. 17.I.10

My Bottom Line:
This Witbier’s orange peel and coriander aromas dwell in a soft, silky body, creating a straightforward example of the style.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the misty golden. There is not much yeast in there for a Witbier...
-Underlying wheat-like crispness is overtaken by the spices.
-This is another super clean brew from Trois Dames, but it lacks the personality to make me want to buy this particular one again.

330ml bottle, honey gold color, with an-off white head, yeasty, light acidic lemon, grapefruit peel nose, with some mild coriander spicy accents, and a wheaty, pale malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp, faint fruity lemony, honeyed wheaty, toasted, pale malt character, with a zesty, candied orange, tangerine peel accents, and a light coriander spicy note and a faint flowery hop citrusy, leafiness, leading towards a honeyish, candied, zesty lemony, cirusy, lingering hop bitterness finish.

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy yellow color ale with some white haze and a medium foamy head with OK retention and not much lacing. Aroma of medium wheat malt with some light spices. Taste is not the most spectacular with some notes of coriander and orange peel with medium wheat malt. Body is fuller then average with good carbonation. Not bad overall but nothing to write home about either.

In short: A doughy nourishing witbier. Good beer for the style
How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed fresh a few days after receiving it through private importation
The look: Cloudy dark yellow body topped by short-lived white head
In long: Very yeasty nose with lots of bananas. The body is surprisingly full for a below 5% witbier, this one packs a lot of wheaty cereals. Malts and yeast join forces to create a doughy mouthfeel. Taste has a mix of fresh and ripe bananas, citrus fruits, biscuits, some oranges, light spicy notes. Floral hops, semi-dry finish. Above average for the style, which for the entertainment industry is the equivalent of an above average weather report.

Beer pours a cloudy straw, orange color with a 1/2 inch fluffy white head that runs away quickly, leaving a ring and island in the middle. Nose is floral, citrus and orange juice freshness. Taste is wheaty, fresh squeezed oj, grapefruit. Refreshing.
