2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
In short: A messy IPA. Meh
How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed as fresh as possible a few weeks after we received it in Quebec
The look: Cloudy amber body topped by a large creamy beige head with good lacings
In long: Nose is a bit like fake flowers aromas (air freshener) and some oranges. Taste has sweet apples, cookies, boiled potatoes, oranges, pine-tree, bitter grapefruits, flowers, lots of dirty messed up yeast, a strong harsh acidity. Obviously not a clean beer. There is obviously a few problems with this beer but my bottle didn’t taste infected per say, it was just a big mess. I don’t think what I drank is what the brewer was trying to make. Bad and not cheap either, yet another crappy beer I shouldn’t have bought. If it is true that we learn from our mistakes then my IQ must be in the 200s by now.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Boutip. Pours a hazy amber with an off white head that dissipates to a a ring. Floral and perfumy aroma. Medium bodied with a fine carbonation. Of pale belgian malts, countered by a grapefruit and mango type hoppiness. This must have a Belgian yeast strain, because it’s sort of bretty. A tad astringent on the finish, but alcohol nicely hidden. Interesting and actually enjoyable. I was worried because it leaked in transit, but it still had carbonation.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle: Poured a dirty light orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light citrus hops with tired floral aroma is not the most spectacular for the style. Taste is also a mix between some tired floral hoppy notes with some light citrus notes and a dry Belgian style malt backbone. Body is quite full with good carbonation. This one fell a bit flat and definitely missed some hops punch.

1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20

1.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle, amber color, with a frothy white head, light candied orange peel, peach, fruity yeasty nose, with a mild orange marmalade, toasted, biscuity, munich malt sweetness accent, and with an orange candied cake doughy panettone note, within a soft floral leafy, citrusy hoppy aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with an apple, orange, tangerine, lemon fruit yeastiness, flowery earthy raw leafy, grassy, minty hop character, with some grapefruit, lime rind, cedary bittering flavours, and with a mild toasted, caramel, pale malt sweetness backbone, leading towards a warming, soft fruity, yeasty, zesty, lemon, grapefruit, lingering grassy, leafy hop bitterness finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Copper with a thick and creamy head. Aromas are medicinal with hint of herbal hops plus a pinch of tropical fruit. Medium body, lively carbonation, medium bitterness, a bit of funk in there finishes on a citric note and a bit of sweet caramel malt. Don’t think this beer is too clean...Looked real nice but feels contaminated a bit.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle from IPB.
Appearance : Amber with small head. Not much lacing.
Aroma : Big passion fruits with piny notes. Very fruity with light malt. Quite floral. Light caramel.
Palate : Soft carbonation.
Taste : Big fruits with pine and citrusy notes. Very citrusy and fruity finish. Moderate bitterness for a DIPA. Finish light malt with light caramel. Notes of lime.
Overall : interesting but the fruity notes feel a bit artificial. I’m really not saying there is artificial flavoring in there but something make it feel this way. Carbonation could have been a bit fizzier. Not bad overall but not on par with the good examples of the style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a one finger off-white head that fades quickly to a ring leaving traces of lace. Hazy amber color with some yeast left in bottle. Light grapefruit hop nose. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor has malty sweetness and mellow grapefruit hops. Decent DIPA. Higher ABV is hidden. $6.00 for a 330ml bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.
