Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear amber with a small and rough off-white head. Very intense citrusy hop aroma - quite caramellish also. Solid body, lots of fruit and caramel with tons of citrusy hops leaving a good dose of bitterness. Solid and well made. 261010

Bottled (thanks Bov!). Amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts along with some fruity and floral notes. A bit toffeeish as well. Alcohol gives a slight sting to it. Flavour is alcohol, some fruits and mild floral and grassy notes. Alcohol burns quite a bit. Quite bittery and dry in the finish.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Hazy amber, small off-white head. Rich aroma of tropical fruits - pineapple dominates. Sweet with dense, very soft mouthfeel, medium to full body. Lots of caramel and bread under the pineapple. Lingering bitterness.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2011 2011-05-05, bottle from Artisanale Bières Belges, Crissier, bb 2012-01, 8-5-8-5-17=43
Cloudy dark amber color; medium-sized head, of which a thin layer is persistent. The aroma, besides the obvious fruity hops, has a cheesy component. Great body balance, where malts that are only medium-sweet meet the sweaty and fruity hops; in the final, where the hop resins just prevail on the malt and fruits, is now possible to notice a light astringency as well. The bitterness is high but not so apparent.

The cap is not very tight, so the carbonation is low and there is little head; it pours a hazy amber color.
The aroma has great balance between fruity and sweaty hops.
The mouthfeel is mellow, and the flavor is a great combination of sweet malts and fruity hops, almost orange and apricot jam.
The bitterness is never too much here.

Cloudy orange-amber color; the head is not very persistent. The aroma is nice, hoppy, fruity (mango and apricots), and malty (sweet). The flavor is clearly malty-sweet, with a strong bitterness, bringing not only a fruity character but also resiny, and the resins are more evident in the final. Powerful and balanced candy beer.

2010-11-13, bottle from La Mise en Bière, Lausanne, bb 2012-01, 8-5-8-4-15=40
Hazy dark amber color; beautiful compact head. The aroma is very nice, with fruity hops and malts; strong, perfumy, with a vein of cheesy yeast. It has a good body structure, with a strong caramel and toffee flavor, well balanced by the fat hops, resiny, but apparently fading, still well fruity; a bit spicy. The final is bold, juicy sweet bitter and fruity; very long. The light cheesy note doesn’t speak for freshness, but it’s a very enjoyable beer.

Beautiful color, amber, bright and hazy, with a thin creamy head. Nice but not strong hop notes, with a light fruity accent (apricot jam), followed by comforting caramel aroma; there are also shades from a musky yeast, interesting. Good body structure; it has bold caramel and toffee flavor; the bitterness is strong, but correctly balancing the residual sugars; the hops are juicy, a bit fruity and resiny; the final is good, bold as well, but a bit tiring. I also start enjoying drier examples...
A good brew, globally able to stand proudly, and, most of all, a pioneering rarity in the country.
Unfortunately, the beer was distributed to retailers only 4 months after brewing (June 9th), and some/most of the hop character may have gone; we wait for a new, fresh batch!

Bottle, 9%. Good, malty aroma, rather peppery, but in a good way. Cloudy dark amber colour. Good stable tan head. The flavour starts off nicely bitter, turns malty in a caramelly way. Some alcohol bitterness along with a clean hop bitterness. Warming alcohol. Good, also for the style.

TBone (12477) - Pori, FINLAND - FEB 25, 2011
Bottled (BB 01/2012)
Deep amber color, small white head. American hoppy - heavy juicy hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Sticky very hoppy American hoppy flavor. Not very heavy maltyness. Some alcohol. Very much in (American) DIPA style, but not one of my favourites. Well-brewed anyway, Trois Dames is a quality brewery.
