3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 illinismitty (2270) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 22, 2012Bottle from Boutip. Pours a hazy amber with an off white head that dissipates to a a ring. Floral and perfumy aroma. Medium bodied with a fine carbonation. Of pale belgian malts, countered by a grapefruit and mango type hoppiness. This must have a Belgian yeast strain, because it’s sort of bretty. A tad astringent on the finish, but alcohol nicely hidden. Interesting and actually enjoyable. I was worried because it leaked in transit, but it still had carbonation.

33cl, danke Allen! - Potent, after dinner maracuja mousse of a double IPA with plenty of character and a good medium, sweet malt backbone. Even picked up some more close-to-home fruit notes from the yeast, like pear and Apfelstrudel. Some alcohol, hops doing their job and not competing to take palate-numbing centre stage. Confident brew, nice dessert to conclude a series of meal-accompaniers from Trois Dames.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 MoritzF (7835) - Bochum, GERMANY - FEB 17, 2013
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly yeasty, malty aroma with fruity hops including notes of grapefruit and a shy piney touch. Quite bitter flavour with a tinge of sweet malt, almost full bodied with a soft carbonation. Skightly honey-ish malty base with fruity (citrus, grapefruit, maracuja) and delicately zesty hoppy notes; bitter and mildly sweet finish with a fruity hoppy tail. 06.II.13

Bottle (fortunately n o t traded with Allen!): Golden, hazy, stable white foamy layer, fruity and aromatic hoppy nose, a distinctive yeasty touch in the background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and pretty soft; dryish lingering hoppy-yeasty finish. Yes...

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass orange-golden, nice head. Starts strong, intense hoppy, not too dry. Mild bitterness. Fine fruity notes of peaches. Finish well balanced, a bit drier. Very drinkable. Good one!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 puboflyons (1452) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 15, 2012
From the 11.2 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is a slightly hazy copper-orange with a small head. The aroma is powerful with hops and various liquors. The body is creamy and medium. The taste is a little malty at first but it quickly has a pungent hard liquor feel with pepper. It really has a lot of character from start to finish but not quite my thing.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 dfearnley (350) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 7, 2012
750mL bottle to taster
Rose, toasted malts, alcohol. Appearance is horrible, plenty of particulates floating around and a 4mm pile of yeast. Taste is very interesting...sort of like drinking a hoppy Brie. Medium bodied but gritty.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ferris (565) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 7, 2012
Bottle - Sweet and perfumy with some strong yeast notes. Cloudy brown with a minimal head. The perfume persists with a heavy rose flavor dominating with some resin and a nice fruity sweetness. Very light on the palate. A great light IPA which is odd fo a double.
