Flip top bottle, decent and tasty, an odd flavor really kill it from being amazing, a light strawberry like vanilla barrel

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma of grape, light funk and grain. Pours a light copper color and no head retention. The taste is sour with but there is some dry fruitiness to it. The body is light and effervescent. I think I like the idea of this beer more than the actual product. The beer is very good but could be taken in a lot of more interesting directions.

L’Amoureuse has an interesting combination of acidity and bitterness with a touch of funk and a whiff of vinegar in the aroma. It is slightly boozy with an appealing texture.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft at Churchkey in D.C. Served alongside L’Amoureuse No. 1 (Blanche). Review from notes.
The beer is reddish and fairly hazy with a small head. The aroma brings grapes, funk, acidity, bread, grains. Definitely the better of the two beers. Smoother with more going on. More pronounced fruit. Tasty grape character throughout. Very enjoyable.

Bottle at Rabbits Club. Nice berry tart nose. Tastes of berries, grape skins, earth, lemons, vinegar, woody, and soy sauce. Nicely carbonated. Really quite tasty. Euro night continues

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at the Sybarite Pig. Pours a reddish-pink clear with slight white head. Tulip. Aroma was very light with grapes and berries. Taste was not sweet (as expected) but more dry with berries, strawberries, grapes and very light hops. Overall drinkable but not really my style of beer.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Pizza Paradiso, Dupont Circle. Pours a medium brownish red, not much to aroma. Body kind of slippery, viscous, unimpressive, little tartness. Easy drinking, warming well hidden, barrels come in at end to give back a little credit. Good enough, and I like the inventiveness, but the style has been done much better.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy orange color with a big white head and lots of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is pleasant enough, lots of nice fruitiness... some wildflowers... not much else, but it smells pretty good.
Huh, this is an odd beer... tastes a bit like the grape juice at my grandparents house that came out of a can that you used a church key to poke the holes in so as to get the juice out, but without the sweetness. I guess it’s a pretty pleasant flavor, the nice light sourness and funky earthiness work pretty well here. The beer is mildly bitter with some peppery notes.
Weird, but strangely satisfying. Pretty good all together.
