COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palanfrina is the fall seasonal and is brewed from September to December. The chestnuts arrive with first chilly days in autumn. Palanfrina brewed with chestnuts is a beer that warms the spirit. Palanfrina is a full-bodied beer with a tawny color and with an intense nose. The use of only regional chestnuts gives the beer a local flavor. Palanfrina is great with pungent cheeses and makes an optimal companion for chocolate desserts.

Pours an orange color. Apparently this beer has chestnuts in it. Weird. Beer was decent with some grassy notes. Mm

On draught at Lion’s Pride... Pours a raw umber color with a tan one finger head. Aromas were a bit subdued, bit of dried fruit, ginger, sweet balsamic and hints of herbal tea. The flavors had a malty start with a lot of the chestnut flavor poking through with hints of spice, earthy malts and a slight tartness to balance out the slightly sweet dried berry undertones. Pretty tasty but not mind blowing.

Draft at Churchkey, this was one of the Zymatore series by B. United. Pour was outrageously murky, like chocolate milk, and the nose had quite a bit of diacetyl and unappealing sticky sweetness. The flavor was much of the same, with a bit of vinous tart wine and dark fruit, but couldn’t get past those unwelcomed sweet flavors. Chalky on the palate. Pretty gross.

Draft. Muddy brown color, no head. Aroma of spoiled grapefruit juice and mud. Tastes like falling into a mud puddle with your mouth open.

Tap at CK. Muddy murky ugly brown. No head formation. Super sweet honey nose with sweet cherries Some odd American unfiltered apple cider in there. Taste is vegetal and tea leave heavy with some lemon juice. Odd stuff. Not so bad. Mild acetobacter heat. Weird stuff. Not offensive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells of wine, vinegar, chestnuts. Looks murky brownish red, no head. Tastes awesome. Red wine, sour vinegar, chestnuts, cream, rhubarb, mild spices, salt, cardamon. Finishes clean, with mild linger.

Troppo forte e troppo dolce, schiuma zero, si presenta anche male.... Non mi e’ piaciuta.

Clear purple to red brown beer, creamy light beige head, unstable, adhesive. Aroma: alcohol, roquefort cheese, sweet dried fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium body, heavy on the alcohol. Taste: yeast, bit cheesy, dark caramel, dried fruits. Aftertaste: citrus fruits, little bitterness, alcohol.

Bottle at Eataly store, Bologna, Italia 26.02.11 Pours dark amber with a hazy white head. This is malty with a touch of sourness on nose. Soft in the mouth, likeable though not stunning. I did get the nuts but they weren’t too overpowering. A7 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

The right beer to drink in front of the fire with chestnuts on winter. The alcoholic gradation is very noticeable and the body is rather full. Soft carbonation, long finish.
