Smells of wine, vinegar, chestnuts. Looks murky brownish red, no head. Tastes awesome. Red wine, sour vinegar, chestnuts, cream, rhubarb, mild spices, salt, cardamon. Finishes clean, with mild linger.

Clear purple to red brown beer, creamy light beige head, unstable, adhesive. Aroma: alcohol, roquefort cheese, sweet dried fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium body, heavy on the alcohol. Taste: yeast, bit cheesy, dark caramel, dried fruits. Aftertaste: citrus fruits, little bitterness, alcohol.

Bottle at Eataly store, Bologna, Italia 26.02.11 Pours dark amber with a hazy white head. This is malty with a touch of sourness on nose. Soft in the mouth, likeable though not stunning. I did get the nuts but they weren’t too overpowering. A7 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

The right beer to drink in front of the fire with chestnuts on winter. The alcoholic gradation is very noticeable and the body is rather full. Soft carbonation, long finish.

Clear deep amber/brown pour light off white head ... aroma of chestnuts and a bit floral .... taste of honey and nutty floral with a jam taste abv hidden well with a nutty aftertaste ... mouthfeel is nutty and medium with a thick chewyness to it .... a warming fall beer

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruit - a bit too over ripe for my liking, metal, and caramel soup. The body is thick. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

Not at all what I was expecting. Maybe beyond its bbe or bad bottle - whatever. Poured with ok tan head and a little lace. Color is slightly hazy reddish amber. Aroma was chemical solvents. Some slight sourness as well. Body was ok and so was carbonation. Flavor’s the same. Finish is like flavor. I was really looking forward to this and am vastly disappointed. Maybe try again someday.

Unclear medium to dark amber color with a average to large, creamy - frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light to moderate yeasty, overripped raisin notes, spicy and berry notes, alcohol - phenol, chestnuts. Flavor is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic.

750 ml bottle at BCTC 2009. Pours a hazy deep woody brown and a foamy head- diminishing. Aroma is toasted malts, chestnut earthiness, light chocolate, roast, light burnt malts, and fruity esters- raisin, plum, lychee. Flavor is earthy, light roast, nutty chocolate, chestnuts, pine, mint, and a slight bit too acrid and harsh- eh.
