Furseth (1118), Kungälv, Sweden Jun 15, 2008 Draft at Bir & Fud Rom,/Italy: Hazy yelow colour, with a flat head. Aroma of flowers, malty, fruity and a caramelly finish. Flavor had a smouth mouth feeling, with lots of caramel, reminds me of a norwegian bock beer, and that`s a compliment.(In the head its stands Belgian Ale?) A Short to medium caramely finish. Nice!
MartinT (4316), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 11, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Honeyed malts tend to supercede the herbal, citrusy hops in this clean and well-made strong ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the hazy blond.
-The body is round, and these residual sugars seem to provide the bulk of the flavors.
-A subtle spiciness stems from the hops in the finish.
-Carbonation is soft, which usually helps drinkability, but alcohol warmth warns you that this is no session beer.
-The honeyed sweetness verges on being caramelized.
On tap at Bir&Fud, Roma. RomanW70 (284), Providence, Rhode Island, USA Jul 17, 2008 On tap at Bir & Fud on 7/6. Pours gold with a minimal head. Aroma of caramel, candied sugar, and funk. Similar taste. A very nice, solid beer.
