3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ernest (5116) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 22, 2010
Draught, Bir & Fud, Rome.
Head is fully lasting.
Body is hazy medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs, flowers), with notes of pepper, lemon zest, and gum.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
Surprisingly good. Very fresh, and frankly I had no idea it was spiced. *shrug* After small samples of several other Italian beers at this restaurant (no ratings, just looking for something enjoyable to drink), this one was the clear winner. Excellent balance in the mouth. Along with Tipopils, the only beer I finished a glass of.

Birra profumata, corpo leggero, molto beverina anche dato il tenore alcolico.

15th December 2008. Cloudy gold beer, thin white head. A slightly fruity and watery beer that is quickly overwhelmed by hot and dry spices. Ginger stands out. A little spice afterburn on the finish as well. Over spiced for a Saison.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 blankboy (4287) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 29, 2009
Bottle at the ’Coles Italian Beer Festival’, Buffalo, NY. Pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma of lemon, yeast, light grassiness, some light sweetness and a good amount of fruit. Flavour pretty much follows the aroma: Citrus, yeast, grassiness and a hint of pepper added.
Average bodied, lightly carbonated. It’s just good, an average Saison.

Bottle @ Cole’s Italian Beer Tasting. Clear gold, thin white head. Nose is lemon candy, a little grassy. Flavor is lemon, pils malt, lots of grass. Kinda thin and the finish reminds me a bit of soda water.
