OleR (4248) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 5, 2007
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2007 On tap @ Oslo Mikrobryggeri as Amber X, in company with the good people from Kristiansand, Norway, Beer_2000 and Yngwie. Slight hazy copper/red body. Nice dense creamy white head. Alluring aromas of toffee and sweet caramel with a sharp hoppy edge. Taste is sweet malt/caramel, with the slighest fruitiness, and not so evident hopbitterness. Healthy body. Overall... Quite light, but very likeable and quencing.

Gr0ve (2040) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 1, 2007
1 pint on draught at the brewpub. Dark reddish copper colour. Clear. Distinct münchenermalt aroma with a slightly harsh edge. Notes of red berries and fruit in the aroma. High carbonation level with lots of bubbles rising to the surface. Caramel flavours balanced by distant dark malts. Quite crisp, but suffers a little from the harshness. Not sure what does it, but there is something cloying in there. The beer itself is not particularly sweet, but there is caramel in there that is slightly weird. Anyway, this beer is surprisingly similar to their Bayer, which I had a couple of months ago. For all I know they could be the same.
