Sweet and spicy. Prunes, bitter oranges, Belgian yeast. Full of flavour, very pleasant. Nutmeg, black pepper.

Sampler at the brewpub. Deep sparkling clear copper body with a lasting creamy small light brown head leaving excelllent lacing. Heavy butter caramel aroma with a hint of cat piss. Both caramel sweet and hoppy bitter in a good balance. Full bodied and syrupy with a long ending. Dry tongue.

Tastes like a fresh and yound ale. This ale is a tad darker than the bitter, pale ale and amber. Not as rich as I was expecting for a strong ale. Tastes of fresh hops. Lacks maturing. Because of little maturation time the malt sweetness is not as present as it should be. Its’ kind of a shame. The bartender told us that if this beer was "lagered" alittle longer the ABV would rise to 8,5%. This was new for me, as a homebrewer I haven’t heard that beer gets stronger by maturing. :) Anyways, it’s a good ale.

02.12.2008.On tap at the Brewpub. The colour is brown. Aroma is malty. There is a lot of nice hops. Well balanced with a rich aftertaste. I think this is a very nice beer! Since this is a micro brew there might be some difference from 2007 to 2008?

100ml draught at the brewpub. A powerful and well bodied strong ale for the holiday season. Slightly hazy, dark amber in body colour under a thin, off-white, lacing head. Smell of dark fruits mixed with a mild yeasty tone. The flavour is a great combination of citrus fruits, plums and raisin. Some roastiness beneath and warmth from the alcohol at the ending (in from the cold, Trondheim 12.12.2007).

Very thin offwhite head. Amber body with carbonation. Dusty malty roasty aroma with chocolatey, fruity notes and some unidentifiable hops. Sweet-and-dry perfumy roasty burnt chocolatey malt taste. Slightly harsh mouthfeel. Dry hoppy dusty roast malt aftertaste with alcohol and pine needle notes. Some alcohol heat. Alcoholic burnt taste with metallic notes lingers. A bit perfumed and alcoholic, but still nice. (0.33l draft at TMB.)
