3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery, in a flight. Pours black, with a thin, tan head. The aroma is coffee, chocolate, molasses, and a little cinnamon. Sweet, with a mellow, unexpectedly pleasant, roasted character. Medium to heavy body, sticky, and powdery. Overall, this is a pretty solid stout, with a good malty mouthfeel, and a nice, easy flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler sample. Pours dark brown in color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, big black coffee notes, some sweetness, dark chocolate, body is a bit thin for the big coffee, strong bitterness to the finish.

At brewpub. Good aroma. Coffee. Chocolate. Dark orangy brown color. Small head that faded quickly. No lace. Sweet flavor. Medium body, thick creamy mouthfeel. Bittersweet finish. Good stuff. All coffee ...so you have to like coffee. Purple

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Murky opaque black pour with one finger of tan head. Acidic black coffee dominates the nose with a touch of roast and bitter chocolate. Acidic coffee in the flavor, bitter black malt with a touch of roast. A little one dimensional. Coffee thins the palate and leaves it a bit too bitter for me.

Tap @ TBC opening night! Dark brown pour with a thick beige colored head. The nose is not complex, but it is very appealing. Roasted malts and FRESH dark roast coffee shine through. Nice and clean. The taste follows the nose exactly. Les has done a nice job of incorporating the coffee. The coffee is crisp, clean, and turns the beer’s excellently roasted malts’ flavors up a notch. But the beer’s mouthfeel leaves something to be desired. It’s too thin, and doesn’t do justice to the richness of flavor that has been achieved here. Bump up the body but not the Alcohol
