Commercial Description:
Brewed at De Proefbrouwerij for Musketiers.

'Troubadour' is a deep blond beer with 6,5 % alc. and a second fermentation on the bottle. This second fermentation is responsible for the higher alcohol percentage and the further evolution of the beer in the bottle. When poured out in a suitable glass, 'Troubadour' has a thick white tenacious head. The first contact with the tongue results in a lovely sparkling feeling. The flavour is characterised by a mild bitterness and is somewhat spicy, followed by a pleasant sweet aftertaste and dry finish. The aroma is mainly characterised by the spicy hop flavours, accompanied by a light fruity flavour. Troubadour Blond is an authentic beer, consisting of the basic elements : pilsner malt, water, hop and yeast.

Bottle. Color was pleasant with a sweet yeasty aroma. The taste was VERY yeasty with an aftertaste almost like a soft pretzle - maybe slightly too yeasty? You can certainly taste something bread-like [maybe rye?] in a hearty belch! It was okay but not something I would go out of my way for. I would steer someone towards the Ommegang Ommegeddon first.

Very mild. Very sweet and inoffensive. I had a hard time noting the spicynes that people refer to. Drinkable for a saison, but not one that I would turn to for style introduction.

Bottle: Big sweet yeasty aroma with moderate fruit cake, raisins, and apples. It pours a hazy golden orange with a moderate creamy white head that lasts a minute or so. The flavor starts with moderate yeastiness with some fruit cake and a hint of raisin. The finish has notes of sweet apple and a touch of flowery hops. The is a harsh metallic taste in the finish and is really hard to get past and kills the beer.

A hazy blonde, veering on amber, with a thick white head. Very pleasant aroma of banana bread, maple, honey, almost creamy. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar, leading to light cloves, coriander, and warming alcohol. Signs of oxydation also noted. Bottle is about 1.5 year old. Bieropholie private import.

Dark yellow colored, little white head. Cloudy appearance. Aroma is yeasty and berryish, maybe some raspberries with sour touch also there. Medium bodied. Flavor is interesting with this positive cardboardy dryness and nutty tones, mild chocolate also there.
