Commercial Description:
Brewed at De Proefbrouwerij for Musketiers.

'Troubadour' is a deep blond beer with 6,5 % alc. and a second fermentation on the bottle. This second fermentation is responsible for the higher alcohol percentage and the further evolution of the beer in the bottle. When poured out in a suitable glass, 'Troubadour' has a thick white tenacious head. The first contact with the tongue results in a lovely sparkling feeling. The flavour is characterised by a mild bitterness and is somewhat spicy, followed by a pleasant sweet aftertaste and dry finish. The aroma is mainly characterised by the spicy hop flavours, accompanied by a light fruity flavour. Troubadour Blond is an authentic beer, consisting of the basic elements : pilsner malt, water, hop and yeast.

11.2 oz bottle from Party Liquors (Steger, IL). Poured a hazed honey hue with floaties, a decent off white head that sticks around, and overall decent looking. Aromas are of light belgian yeasts and a mellow sweetness. Initial taste is lightly belgian yeast influenced, some subtle noble hops, and a very nice smoothness. Alcohol noticeable after a little permeation. A few moments of unpleasant sharpness mixed with a few moments of nice mellow sweet belgian session glory (Albeit, the alcohol creeps up on you quickly!). Decent.. but mixed feelings

11.2 ounce bottle in Duvel glass. Hazy orange amber with lasting flat head and lace. Honey peach apple caramelspice aroma. Honey apple peach sweet fruitiness with mild spicy bitter finish. Medium body and medium fine carbonation make for nice mouthfeel. A pretty good interpretation of a subtle and delicate style. Just complex enough to make it interesting. Unfortunately, I think this bottle I bought at Shoreline Bev in Huntington is slightly aged. But still very good.
