Commercial Description:
Brewed at De Proefbrouwerij for Musketiers.

'Troubadour' is a deep blond beer with 6,5 % alc. and a second fermentation on the bottle. This second fermentation is responsible for the higher alcohol percentage and the further evolution of the beer in the bottle. When poured out in a suitable glass, 'Troubadour' has a thick white tenacious head. The first contact with the tongue results in a lovely sparkling feeling. The flavour is characterised by a mild bitterness and is somewhat spicy, followed by a pleasant sweet aftertaste and dry finish. The aroma is mainly characterised by the spicy hop flavours, accompanied by a light fruity flavour. Troubadour Blond is an authentic beer, consisting of the basic elements : pilsner malt, water, hop and yeast.

The beer poured a light amber with a little yeast from the bottle making it slightly cloudy. I had no head on the beer but a very lively carbonation. The beer left lacing on the glass as I drank. There was a complex sweet malty aroma with a strong caramel presence and hints of apple. There was no hop aroma. The beer is sweet and fruity. With each sip you get sweetness at the front and bitterness at the end. As the beer warms the fruitiness mellows out to a caramelly presence that becomes overwhelming at the finish. I found the finish to be quite cloying. There is some hop bitterness at the beginning that goes away as the beer warms. No hop flavor. This started out as a good beer for me, but was just too sweet at the end.

somewhat hazy gold body, some flakes, moderate lacing, soapy white head; creamy, spicy, and sweet, but finishes dry indeed; good.

Bottle @ Café de Paas. Golden yellow colour, big white head. Aroma of hops, yeast, spice. Flavour is a bit sweet malty, yeasty and spicy with a nice bitter taste that lasts. Very nice blond beer.

On tap at Oud Arsenaal, Antwerp. Pours almost yellow color with a large fluffy snow white head. Lots of yeast sediment. Lacing is excellent. Aroma is yeast with a trifle of spice. Flavor is bready malt with a nice sweetness. Yeasty notes also evident. Notes of banana. The body is medium with a semi-dry finish. good refreshing beer.
