A little sweet in the finish, but overall an outstanding stout. Nutty aroma, rich flavor, alcohol hidden well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ik ben geen Stout-drinker, dus dit vond ik absoluut niet meevallen, ik ga het nooit meer kopen

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Vova. Dark amber-brown with reddish hues and a big beige head. Aroma of roast, caramel, nuts, cookies, yeast and some fruitiness. Flavor with some yeast and roast, some caramel, a bit of cookies, some fruitiness and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Not really an Imperial Stout, more like a Quadrupel/Belgian BW with a bit more roast and a bit more hop bitterness.

Bottled from Burg Bieren, BB 03 Oct 2015, large sample, served into a tulip glass. Dark brown color, medium frothy light-brown head. Aroma of milk chocolate, slight coffee, sweet candy, hint of mocha, not as much roasted malts. Taste is bit bitter, medium sweet. Creamy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Like their Magma, with a Belgian twist to an American style, but with the balance on the right side. It still is a RIS, but with some sweet candy notes. Very likeable.

Poured deep dark brown with a big beige head. Aroma of roast malt, dark, musty chocolate and coffee. Full body, flavour is much as the aroma. Improved as the glass emptied.

On tap @ In De Wildeman. Clear dark (not quite black) color. Nice dense, rocky beige head with good retention & lacing. Aroma’s of roasted malts, ground coffee, mocha, some red fruit. More mocha-ish sweetness upfront retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet and fruity (sourish). Medium bodied. Big roast, some ash, a bit dry and moderate bitter finish.

Bottle Moeder. Pours a dark blackish color with a brown head. Aroma is of roasted malt, lots of dark fruit, sweet sugary notes, chocolate, coffee and some liqourice. The flavor again is very dark fruity with some Beglian yeasty flavors, along with brown sugar, chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and the liqourice. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall a pretty solid Belgian Stout.
