Flot mørk, næsten sort porter-type med let gyldent mellemtykt blivende skum. Sødlig næse med let brændte toner og lakrids. Starter sødligt med rigeligt kulsyre slutter mere bitter med en anelse brændt humle og anis. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Derivative of Troubadour Obscura since 2011, in 75 cl bottles and destined for export - unfortunately. Creamy, stable, light beige head, very dark burgundy colour, near black, allowing light to shine through only at the edges, almost clear. Rich aroma of coffee powder, bitter chocolate, liquorice, candied dates, tonic water, blackcurrant, leather. Rounded, smooth, bit oily mouthfeel, dark and candied fruits, medium carbo, dark and deep chocolatey malts with mouth-filling, coffee-like roasted bitterness and sharpish peppery and citrussy hop bitterness in the end, long and dry. Not the best impy I ever had - still rather ’Belgian’ - but a truly great beer in all respects.

75cl Bottle from ABS Drinks Winksele, bought 2 years ago. Black colour, beige-brown head. Aroma of oxidization, smells old, liquorice, roasted malts, yeast. Flavour is sweet, liquorice, yeast, also tastes old, roasted malt and some coffee in the light-bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Already too old, obviously not a beer to keep.

Duft av kaffe og krydder. Fin mørk vinrød farge. Dekkende brunt kremet skum. Smak av frukter, kaffe og noe kryder.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of coffee and roasted malts. Bitter taste but with a light sweetness to it. Very smooth mouthfeel, maybe even too smooth for an imperial stout but I think this has to do with the sweetness. Still a good beer though.

33ml bottle Black with a firm tan head. Aroma:Licorice, coffee, roasted malts, Barley malts Taste: sweet Laurus nobilis Licorice. Perfecr Liquid versions. Start sweet and then has a very bitter afterttaste. Medium - to full body, slightly above average carbonation. ( High for an imperial stout.) A bit one dimensional, but it’s perfect liiquid laurus nobilis licorice.

Appearance- pitch black, big three finger beige foamy head which persists impressively. Aroma- lots of chocolate, liquorice and blackcurrant, cocoa, milky coffee, a little bit of toffee. Taste- large amount of coffee, plenty of bitterness, cocoa and dark chocolate in the background, hint of dark fruit and blackcurrant. Quite a long finish, and a medium mouthfeel. A good stout.

Pours very dark with a think tan head. Very carbonated for an imperial stout. Aromas of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit. Taste of roasted malts, slight coffee, and chocolate. Something different in the taste i am guessing is Belgian yeast. Smooth creamy mouth feel. Rather dry finish. Definately gets better as it warms. Diferent from most RIS I have had but well worth the price.
