UPDATED: JAN 25, 2013 Holy crap this is good. About one of the best beers I’ve ever tasted in my life. It’s aroma refers to coffee and dark chocolate. But most of all I was extremely surprised by it’s brandy-like aftertaste which is nothing less than a true treat. Someone put a lot of love into this beer.

Bouteille de 750ml. Gusher brun foncé. Il y a de la mousse dans cette bière. Le nez est fruité avec des cerises au chocolat (est-ce que la bière est contaminée ?). La bouche est aussi fruitée avec des cerises, du chocolat et du café. L’alcool est discret. Une bière facile à boire. Un beau cadeau de Patrick, merci.

Pours dark ruby with a large light tan head. Smell hints of milk chocolate and dry roast. Taste is malted milk chocolate, dry roastiness, and a touch of dry bitterness. Full bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Troubadour Imperial Stout finishes with a lingering dry bitterness.

A clear dark brown/black colored beer, with a big beige head. The aaroma of roasted malt, notes of chocolate and dark fruits. The taste of bitter hop, dark fruits, spices and chocolate. The aftertaste is sweet, with nice bitter notes.

Pours a dark black in color with a soapy head. slight wet cardboard aroma and a touch of yeast in the mix. Dry on the palate with a slight smoky mocha flavor profile. Overall, fairly drinkable and tasty. Thanks to BarZigKin for the hookup!

Bouteille 750ml. De couleur brune très foncée mais claire. Nez de malt assez rôti, de chocolat noir, moyen de pain grillé, léger de café et de réglisse noire avec des notes de houblon herbeux, de caramel, de fumée de bois et de levures fruitées (raisins rouges). Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-élevé ainsi qu’une texture très légèrement crémeuse. Notes de levures fruitées (raisins, traces de prunes) et de chocolat au lait (faibles notes lactiques) et accompagné de notes de bois fumé et de traces de réglisse noire lors de l’entrée en bouche et qui laisse rapidement place à un goût de malt assez rôti ainsi qu’un moyen goût de pain grillé et de chocolat noir et quelques notes de caramel brûlé. Parallèlement, un léger goût de café ainsi qu’une légère amertume de houblon herbeux se développe progressivement jusqu’en finale. Post-goût moyen-long et aux notes asséchantes, moyennement amer de rôti, moyen de chocolat noir avec des notes de café et de houblon herbeux ainsi que quelques traces d’alcool et de fruits (pelures de prunes).

Dark brown with a HUGE beige head that won’t come down. Aroma is light roasted barley and not much more. Body is not that heavy for an Imperial Stout... a let down, really. Not what I’m looking for when I’m opening an imp. stout... It’s not bad, just not up to style.

Pours dark brown with a lot of creamy tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate and dark fruits. Taste is sweet, barley and a bitter roasty finish.

Tried this on tap at Mongoose versus Cobra in Houston, TX. Flavor is roasted malt and chocolate with licorice notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brown pour, light brown head. Aroma is light roast, light coffee, some cocoa powder. Flavor is light, bready, light roast...almost like a light porter in many ways.
