Pours a deep ruby-brown, with ridiculous amounts of dense tan foam that leaves behind some nice lacing. Aroma is of roasty malts, bittersweet chocolate, maybe cherries and figs. Flavor is sweet and malty, some coffee, a noticeable alcohol burn, and turning bitter and roasty at the end.

Bottle, 33cL. @Bičres é Chopes, Cholet, France. A shining black beer with a beige foamy head ; average retention, good lacing. Roast, toast(+), light caramel, dried fruits, light herb. Light sweet, round, light to medium dry bitter. Medium body, thin texture, avearge carbonation, toasty dry finish. Overall, fair ; honestly very toasty, not so fruity or coffee/chocolate character.

This one confirmed what I already knew: Troubadour beers are not for the squeamish and this is serious business! Splendid aromas of coffee, roasted malt and chocolate, as usual, the aftertaste is remarkable and memorable, the experience is more than pleasant. This is definitely a brand that everyone’s enjoying dark beers should know. In result, this is more than APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW!

Bottle shared. Lots of raisin and cocoa, lingering roasty finish. Good stuff but alcohol is definitely there. Better enjoyed late in a session.

Draught at Hulen, Bakken. High creamy lasting light brown head. Pitch black body. Sweet roasted malt coffee liquorice aroma. Slightly sour creamy roasted malt coffee liquorice flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a nice long finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small tan head and an aroma of toffee, roasted malts, licorice, cloves, espresso, dark chocolate, whipped cream, overripe fruisa and alcohol. The taste is medium sweet with some slight alcohol burn and a small amount of bitterness in the finish.

0.33 bottle.
A very dark brown color with a huge, coffee-cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel, malts, chocolate, and dark bread. Taste is malty and sweet: caramel and chocolate play the first fiddle, but overall it is rather delicate for an imperial stout. A full body, a creamy texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is very sweet, and especially chocolaty, really pleasant but could be longer and more definitive. All in all the beer is tasty and drinkable, but it lacks the usual punch of an imperial stout - a category to which it seems to classify solely based on its alcohol content.
